I don't see it as a lack of self disipline. I see it as a lack of wanting to do anything else. Hell with the sun shining gorgeous warm sunny day, I stayed in and played Dragon Age. Couldn't think of anything else to do and lack of funds/car were my excuse. If I bothered my arse I woulda done something different. Gaming can be an addiction, as can television. Like smoking and drinking are addictions as well All things in moderation. Many people can't do in moderation.

Most people can't do moderation. And lack of moderation is a lack of discipline, when I used to drink (can't now, medication), I used to buy three or four drinks and be merry, as the night wore on, shots, doubles and shotgunning led me to a side alley to empty the night's contents before the pitch black three mile walk home.

This happened maybe 5% of my nights out but was still pretty dangerous, foolish and expensive by my own admission.

I prefer to look on my addictive side as a compulsion to complete positive tasks like excercise and my job, if I wanna be anything I wanna be the best and the only way I do things is to overdo them.

I've started to get out a little more rather than cruise this forum or PSN every waking hour, and I feel I am getting more out of myself and life because of it.
While no day is spectacular, I'm trying to break a cycle that could have eventually led me to a mental institution or the opening post of this topic.

Yeah once in a while we stay in on the sunny days, sometimes more than we should, but it's important we keep that mix.

As enthralling as all those digitised universes can be, we have to make the reality we're escaping from worth returning to.

The alternative is that we won't.

We're seeing two sides here.
