So in two days, I'm going to attempt to teach some friends of mine how to play Magic, using proxy decks. Any advice on what kinds of decks I should use, or how I should go about it?
And what are the best ways to make a proxy deck?

There are sites like Brainburst.com(takes you to TCG player) where it'll give you the option to make proxies. As to decks. Hmm. Koldotha is a good teaching deck. Or any of the event decks/starter decks. They teach well too.

I was thinking of explaining the basics of the game first, then letting them pick a deck of mine on TCGplayer, then I'll explain it to them, they'll pair up, and I'll kinda guide them through a game. Do you think that'll work?

Oh, and I would have the decklists with card previews up for both chosen decks, so they can easily reference what does what.

Best thing to me is to teach/learn by playing. That's how I was taught Magic. By playing games with friends and them explaining things. Then I started reading up on my own(granted, I was in elementary school though, so I was like, 7 when I started playing lol.) But yea, that'd be a good idea.

Also, walmart has alllll the commander decks between them. Went to one and they had two decks, went to another they had the others. I thought about picking one up, but I don't play commander enough to warrant me getting it. I might get one later on. Still, 30 for the decks where everywhere else is 40-50 is a GREAT deal.

Just got back from Gran Prix Kansas City where I scrubbed. I had 3 byes and went 0-3 after that. sigh

This year I top 64d GP Denver
and played in GP Dallas but scrubbed.

Love Magic and everything about it. Wish I could play more. Played some awesome commander games on Sunday.

I like the idea of Commander, but I don't want to spend the time searching for 80 odd individual cards in order to make a deck. Puzzled

Yeah, but OCTGN is FREE. And has really nice presentation too.

And I think that I've managed to hook some of my friends. MWAHAHAHA.

Something I've noticed about multiplayer magic: If you want to win, it is imperitive that you start off playing poorly.

Yeah when I play commander the person who starts off destroying things loses first.

I just picked up my box of M12. It was terrible. 3 mythics. Sorin, Time Reversal, and Hydra.

I never open good boxes. Sad

I wanna pick up a box for m12 but right now I have other things that need buying, like a new phone. -siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh-

I do hope to snatch that Jace. It might not be OP, but I like the artwork on it.
