Parsnips are WIN!! I love them honey roasted, if you score the flesh first you get beautiful crisp edges whilst still keeping the inside soft and fluffy... Very Happy= :D

The people who made the best honey in the world closed down a few years ago. Sad

... and it was the best honey in the world, at least according to a Carmen Sandiego game. Laughing

Ewwwwww! People honey! :sick2:

I prefer honey from bees.

Hehe, sorry, I couldn't resist.

=====

I made one of my fave summer meals tonight. Sausage and peppers (I'm a good Italian boy!)

Grill up some nice spicey italian sausage.
1 diced green pepper, 1 diced red pepper, and 1 diced yellow onion.
Sautee the onion with some olive oil. Once they start to stoften, add the peppers, some minced garlic (I use at least 3 to 4 large cloves, minium), red chili flakes, and some salt.
Once the peppers start to soften, crank up the heat! You want some blackening on the pepper skins, and some of the onion edges. Once there, remove from heat.
Place sausage on a nice big soft bun (Has to be big to fit the peppers), cover in as much of the peppers as you want.
Eat, and enjoy!

I am not a huge fan of the flavor of jalapeños, and to be honest, the thought of it in an Italian dish makes my Italian half quiver, lol Razz
I either us red chili flakes, or home grown red chilies.

I consider myself a decent cook. I love doing it and I love cooking for a lot of people at one time.

But the following I made on Father's day and was dubbed " Best cook in the world " by Six's kids.

Cel's kick ass French toast!!

Crack a few eggs in a bowl. ( The amount will depend on how many you are serving. )
Add a small amount of milk.
Beat the shit out of them.
Add a little butter into the pan.
Dip a piece of bread into egg batter.
Get it good. Shocked
Then cook the bread in a pan. Set it temp on medium.
Once those bad boys are lightly brown, add a little butter, sprinkle some powder sugar and cinnamon and serve.
It's quick, simple and down right yummy.

I do eggs, small amount milk, vanilla and cinnamon as the mixture. The vanilla is the most important part. Lol

I hear that if you let the bread dry out the night before it sops up more yumminess before you put it on the frying pan.

Thats my recipe too ! I like to buy french bread the day before, and take it out at night so it is perfect for French Toast by morning. I think I got that from Dalton Brown's old show.

Alton Brown's Good Eats? That show was awesome! Very Happy= :D

Back when I was okay with bread, we'd add vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Don't think we used any sugar though.

Now that I have a cast iron pan, I'm going to make a meatza. If it comes out well, I'll post my recipe. Razz
