What exactly are you looking at? What's your budget? Do you have manufacturer preferences?

I have never bought a premade PC in my life. I've always built my own. There is lots to look in to, aside from cost, etc.

Are the parts compatible with the software I want to run, is all the hardware compatible with each other, does the hardware have the features I want, can I live without certain features, etc.

Once built, how to optimize the rig, how to optimize the operating system, which antivirus is the most effective/least task heavy/compatible with OS (AV software can bog down a PC HARD!).

IF you can give me some ideas as to what you want, what you want to spend, what you want to do, and any other preferences, I can help.

I can give you my current build.
My budget is about 1400-1500 bucks, anything over that is a little too much.
This build will be used mainly for Battlefield 3 but I also want it to be able to play most new releases in the near future.

Without looking up the parts, I can tell you right off, you want a more powerful PSU (600W these days is pushing low end) I would recommend nothing less then 1000W

The Motherboard isn't bad. I have read some bad reviews about Asus as of late, but not near as bad as Acer, Abit, MSI. Gigabit makes a nice board, but they are pricey. Video card is great! eVGA is a great company with great parts. Both of my video cards are eVGA, and so is my mother board. That being said, I would recommend an eVGA MoBo. Great hardware, great support, very compatible with almost all harwarde out there.

Good price on that RAM, why not get 16? lol

Your HDD seems way to small. These days I would recommend at least 1 TB or 2 x 1TB drives. I prefer 2 drives, as I use one as a back up.

When I get a chance I can look in to some of the stuff more, such as reviews, compatibility, etc. Not all MoBo's will accept all types of RAM, not all RAM works with all CPU's, etc.

I think 8gb its fine it can handle most games, atleast for now. Thats the beauty of PC's you can buy more stuff later Razz

I did reasearched the Motherboard couldn't find anything to bad. It does support Corsairs RAM, and I think the i7 can do it too.

I'll check the GIG and EvGA mobo's, one of the main reason I picked the ASUS is that it did get decent review scores... and that it looked awesome. Embarassed

What's the part number on the RAM? Not the shelf name. IE: CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8(XMP)

Just remember if you want to add more RAM later, it needs to be IDENTICAL. It can't just be the same size. Timings, latencies, exact type, brand, etc. If not it can cause major issues, or lots of minor ones. They aren't always present right away either.

The boards looks, and reads as nice and fancy... Not a lot of time to look in to it, I am at work, haha!

Looks like, for the most part, you have done pretty well building this. Some solid, and compatible components there. In the end, it's what you want, and what you want to spend Smile
I can only recommend, and let you know what I would do.

Oh, Sound card? I HATE onboard audio, not only does it suck 99.9% of the time, but it's a resource pig. Decent sound cards are cheap, but highly effective!

I don't think I will buy a sound card, at least not yet.

What is your opinion on the Asrock extreme cards ?

Here's Mine (info in Sig I paid $590 for my rig) also I'm going to be upgrading PSU's (Power Supply Units) to a 600w from the lil 300W that it came with just since I know I'll end up upping my GPU w/in the next 3-6 months. Really you need to look at wattage/voltage ratings to determine what you really need alot of the newer components now are more efficient.

I just added the case light (LED 11.8") also added 2 additional 120mm case fans to keep it cool since I haven't upped to liquid cooling yet either)

yeah might want to make sure your case/tower can accommodate a 2.5" don't need it able to move in the case or not fit snugly when bolted in.

I need to register it to find out, I need an adapter to power my MoBo since it has a 4 pin on it and the new PSU has an 8pin, lol Suspect

Also it's for the 7900 series cards you get the voucher

All together w/ new card and PSU (and added another 11.8" LED strip at the bottom of the case to match the upper one):

Update: I dropped the machine off at Fry's just since I paid for the extended preferred coverage, they told me 24hr turn around if not sooner. also if it took longer I have the option to ask for a loaner (benefit of the preferred plan). Picked the machine up Saturday they formatted the drive and re-installed windows 8. When I got it home I loaded all my games and stuff back on it (Steam, WoW, SWTOR, LR4, etc). Also installed my fan controller I bought Thursday.
