Any one play the console version? Before last night I had only played the time crisis series in the arcades.
Basically Time Crisis games are rail shooters where you have a gun you aim at the screen and you push your foot on and off a pedal to hop in and out of cover. Fun times.
Well my buddy, brought over the PS3 version. And here's how it plays/goes.

Hehe, I just watched that and then I see this thread
While the game itself looks like it would be a lot of fun (I always enjoyed the Time Crisis arcade games, though I never got to play them much) I don't think I would want my hands cramped around the gun like that. It doesn't seem very ergonomical, kind of like the N64 controller. On the other hand, it looks like that ability to move around makes a big difference in the way you play the game as opposed to the onrails parts. Kind of like playing a regular shooter, but you know, pointing a gun at the screen.
I remember reading somewhere that in an older Resident Evil game, you could hold the lightgun in your right hand and your controller in your left, since all the controls were mapped to the D-Pad, Left stick and L1, L2 and L3 buttons. Is that possible with this game?

You can play with the regular DS3 controller I believe. However the gun came with the game

Playing the video without sound, it looks like you control the movement. That be correct?
I have one of these games at home for the PS2 with the Light gun and all. Man those wires were a hazard and if you weren't careful with your celebrations you may find a PS2 slim flying for your face.

Why not using sound
Yeah the analog sticks are on the gun itself. Just imagine that instead of having a left and right analog on the DS 3, the left is on the side controller and the right is on the hammer of the gun and they control you like a regular controller does. Except with the sensors you can still point your gun anywhere on screen like a wii remote or move remote.

Interesting
Can't play sound in work, have to give the illusion that I am working.
I noticed the way the gun is been held, kinda looks funny but knowing with the analogs are I can see why. That would kind of annoy me cause I tend to hold the gun with two hands on the stock/handle.

Yeah, that was my thought. I don't think I could properly aim with my hands awkwardly wrapped around the gun. I suppose it would take some getting used to.
