Golden Sun: Dark Dawn Empty

I'm pretty excited for this one. I played the original Golden Sun games on GBA and loved them. They were full length honest to goodness RPGs on a hand held where you wouldn't expect them. Very interesting combat system quirk and excellent puzzles, along with a great story. And if the reviews are to be believed, then very little has changed.
I highly recommend the originals myself, and this coming weekend I hope to see how this new addition stacks up to them.

Anyone else looking for ward to this one? How about the originals? The thread title is for this one, but we can discuss the others hear too. Smile

Wow. Nobody?
Sad to see such an excellent game series ignored. Sad

Man...I thought you were cool. Sad
(Payback for not knowing what a Game Gear is?)

This new one's on the DS, but the originals were GBA. I do recommend playing them if at all possible. It was the only RPG in a long while, and the only good one when it came out. Now, if this Game FAQs review is to be believed, then not much has changed in the new installment, and what has changed has been for the better.
I may write up a review for the originals as well as the new one when I get it.

Whats a game gear?

I never really got into the hand helds, had a GB colour for pokemon but got bored of that in a week and the DS's never really interested me.

Wait, no. I think it was "What's a Mega Drive?" not Game Gear, though I didn't have one of those either (Sega Genesis thingy).

I'll be honest, there aren't a great number of hand held games that are really worth it. Golden Sun series, Metroid series, some of the Marios and Zeldas (Minish Cap was excellent, Phantom Hourglass not so much), Scribblenauts, a few others.
They make an excellent way to spend a lunch hour, and are one of the few game systems that allow you to save data at pretty much any time, anywhere which is a nice feature.
