Monkey...I'm stuck
Spoiler:
So I put the lord vessel into its altar and a cutscene showed a whole bunch of doors opening. I recognized the ones in Quelaag's domain, and Anor Londo (the latter of which I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to go to first as the boar is about a hundred times stronger than the first boar I encountered). So my question is 'Do you recall where the other doors are?' and 'Which should I go to first?'. The one in Quelaag's domain leads to a door "looked by some contraption" (as a path to the right) and a flaming Stray Demon (straight ahead), which I did a bit of damage to before being incinerated. The [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I'm using says to go back to the darkroot forest after Anor Londo but doesn't say what to do once I get there the second time.
EDIT: Closing spoiler fail

Your options are
Spoiler:
1. Duke's Archives- That's the one in Anor Londo. I'd wait a bit. 2. Darkroot Garden- Go beat the boss there. Garden, not Basin mind you. You have to buy the seal from the Parish blacksmith for 20K souls and use it on the door you find there. There's also a handy bonfire hidden behind an illusory wall. Smack it. 3. New Londo Ruins- Do not attempt this area until you've completed Darkroot Garden. You're required to wear a ring obtained from Darkroot's boss during New Londo's boss fight. Otherwise you die. If you're not sure where it is, it's down the stairs near the bonfire in Firelink Shrine. 4. Catacombs- This is the area I would recommend first. It's also reached from Firelink by heading around Frampt and into the graveyard. Follow the path until you pass your second set of skeletons on it, then look for it to go to the left. Kinda looks like it ends in a cliff, but you'll see when you get closer. Bring a Divine weapon! Using it on the skeletons inside keeps them from getting back up. 5. Lost Izalith- If you've joined the Chaos covenant and given 30 Humanity to reach rank two, you can open that door near the Firesage Demon and take a big shortcut right by both Firesage and another boss, as well as skipping most of Lost Izalith. I wouldn't really recommend ditching your covenant for Chaos or farming Humanity if you don't have it just to do that though. The bosses are always the most fun. Just make sure to get the tail of the one after Firesage. I usually save this area for last.

Thanks Cobalt.
Went through the catacombs, felt very over leveled. Pinwheel was the easiest boss yet by far (flame sword +5 is beast : D). I just don't understand why they would put a place like the tomb of the giants right after a place you are clearly supposed to finish sometime after blighttown.

Should do the duke's archives or Lost Izalith first? I know you like to save the former for last but is that a strategic move or do you just feel like it?

Well, I suppose it can depend on your gear. If your attacks are more magic oriented, then the archives will be harder. If you're more towards Fire, then Izalith will be harder. And of course, there's your gear's defenses to consider. As you might expect, you'll want good fire defense in Izalith, good magic defense in the Archives. Other than that, it's really personal preference.

Tried Izalith. Got to the centipede demon (wished I had never watched "The Human Centipede"), saw two guys walking through the lava and thought "Oh this must be that lava that's not hot". Walk out and die right away. "WHAT THE FUUU-". You get the idea. Why did I die while those guys where probably laughing at me? Is it another stupid thing like the abyss and it's ring?

Sort of. Sorry I didn't specifically warn you, but why ruin the surprise? You can, in fact, get a ring to wear that will drastically reduce lava damage. And all you have to do is remove the arm or tail from...the Centipede Demon Boss! Yes, that thing in the room full of lava that you just died in. Fortunately, you don't really need it to beat him. The trick is to run to the right. You'll have to cross some lava, but not much. Roll to reduce damage taken. Just head right and go to the small alcove with the item on it. Best place I've found to fight him. His reach is huge, so watch it. And remember that with enough stamina and a good enough shield, his attacks can be blocked. Bring a friend. Solaire is always available just outside the door, near a vine. Once he follows you up on to land, get beindish him and start hacking at the tail. When it drops, keep hacking until it dies(!). That'll get you the ring that cuts lava damage. But really, if you can manage that with him there, then you can just kill him before you put it on. And if you do happen to lose, you'll still have the ring for next time.
A couple of fun facts about lava and that ring. 1.) While it reduces the damage you take from lava, your equipment will still continue to be harmed at the same rate. Go naked, and/or don't dawdle. 2.) If you have it equipped and kick an enemy with it, it'll set them on fire. Enjoy.

The surprise is the whole premise of this game (well exploration of new places but you get the idea).
Finally beat the game after a whopping 53 hours. The final boss fight is very reminiscent of the final boss fight of GoW2. God of everything, using only a giant sword, super aggressive/fast, super easy strategy once you finally figure it out. You've watched that speed-run on youtube right (1hr 23m!?!?)? Well he blocks the first swing and then on the follow up parries and destroys him. I couldn't believe how much of a change in difficulty it was.

Grats on beating playthrough number 1. I'm jealous, I want to play more Dark Souls, but I can't pull myself away from Skyrim right now, and SWTOR is almost out... 5 years of waiting almost over! As CobaltMonkey said earlier though, games will always be there.

PvP is SO MUCH FUN in Dark Souls. I'm not the greatest and backstabs are a wee bit OP for how little skill they take/how lag based they can be at times but this game can make up for it IMO. Got 175k souls just hanging out with a guy using the moonlight greatsword and CSoul spear (ton of damage and scales with Int incase you forgot, I don't blame you). They just kept invading! I'm thinking of making an Int. build using enchanted claymore +5 (for scaling) and slipping behind em with chameleon. Should be fun : D

I would suggest Demon's Souls. Not really for any particular gameplay reason (though it is harder, imo), but because it's not known how much longer the servers will remain operational. They've already been extended 3 times due to the game's popularity. Just another reason that Atlus is awesome. The game can still be played just fine, but you won't be able to summon/be summoned or invade/be invaded. Due to fear of being a newb, I actually haven't ever summoned anyone aside from once for an item trade. Had to use some cheap tactics on some bosses (but no glitching or anything), but other than that it's still perfectly playable solo. Playing Dark Souls, I've realized how much easier it becomes when you can pull in two buddies (or strangers).
A word of warning though. There's one trophy in Demon's Souls that's crazy hard to get because it requires an obscenely low rate item to drop: Pure Bladestone. You best way to get that is to trade for it. Or, if you can get to level 128 or so I can lend you my weapon made from it. It just sucks not having the platinum on such a great game for such a dumb reason.
Dark Souls is P2P. That means more potential for lag, but you'll never have to worry about servers shutting down. And considering that the game is popular, and its predecessor still is too, I don't think you'll have to worry about not finding people to play with any time soon.
Long story short, go for Demon's Souls.

Nice little trailer showing off the Prepare to Die edition for PC.
Oh, yeah. It also has that one minor line at the end. It's probably not important. You wouldn't be interested, surely.

Yeah, they're getting harder and harder to classify.
This one's technically an A(ction)RPG. It was sorted over to here because it has the action part first and foremost in its gameplay.
But yeah, it does look great. Really looking forward to the new enemies and equipment. I've already taken two characters up through NG+++, so this will be a great reason to do so yet again with a new one.

Went to EB games ( Gamestop ) last weekend as they were having a huge sale (sense some financial difficulties cropping up for them). Was looking for Dark Souls after trading in Rage. Saw the normal game for $60 down from $120. Went to JB Hi-Fi and saw the LIMITED EDITION for $59, SOLD !!
