I am going to pick it up. I am a FPS guy and I bought Resident Evil 5 and dont like it. I wish I could trade for it, I sent a note out to my company. LOL! So COD4 or COD5 which way should I go?

W@W and COD4 are both good games, graphics wise W@W is better, but just depends on if you want to fight in updated conditions or go back to WWII

Cool thanks man. I like newer weapons a bit more. I played the COD games on my PS2 and while I like WWII, etc. I am a bigger fan of new up to date weapons. Thanks, maybe I will go get it today.

Hai Morty, I would say both. Both games are a must have for CoD lovers. I still play CoD4, alot of people do, just the other night I partied with M&A, we were running them maps and winning everytime, so see- the game hasnt gone to the birds yet.

Both have lag issues, but personally COD4 is better than COD5. Both r good. Campaign is way better in COD 4 than 5, IMHO.

w@w on sexbox has lots and lots of people playing. usually a tdm has around 18k people playing. havent played ps3 in a while...

Well since 360 has nothing to do w/ what the OP was stating your post is irrevelant and keep the 360 posts to the MSFT section of the forum.

actually it does. he asked which one should he go with and I said that 360 has tons more people than the ps3 for w@w.

But he's asking for this information in the PS3 section not the 360 section so he is wondering which one to get on PS3 Not 360 so your answer is still irrelevant

Hardly anyone plays w@w anymore, so which ever you prefer dog stike or chooper strike is your main difference. Both games are basically the same.

If you have a 360 though..more people play it than the ps3.

I'd wait for Modern Warfare...

true dat liam, but what to play in the meantime? If I had to pick though I would say cod4 is a little bit more solid, but that is just my opinion.

Well in the meantime I would go with CoD4. Too many WW2 shooters out there so its a nice change from the norm. Its fast paced and good entertainment. Good fire fights in it and the settings vary which is nice. CoD5 I'm not so sure about only ever really seen the clips so can't really judge on it.

Currently I'm playing through Farcry 2 for my FPS cravings though... Long game, sandbox game and cheap atm.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I just picked up COD4 online and will pick it up at Best Buy on the way home tonight. I am going to try and start playing in the next day or so, but I always start with the story first. I cant wait to get it done, then play COD6 when it copmes out.

The thing about the new modern warfare game is that its not part of the Call of Duty series. Its broken off from that and done solely by infinity ward.

I'm not sure what you mean but the new game is part of the COD series.

It means those responsible for the sh1t* pre-CoD4 are in no way going near it. Makes it more awesome to know that Infinity Ward is the sole developer and no one else has say in it.

Right, the devs swap years. IW does the heavy lifting their years and are clearly the preferred devs. However, Treyarch did a solid job with W@W. I think they redeemed themselves nicely.

True but you have to admit that it was infinity ward that saved the series itself, making Treyarch get up off there arse's and do something right.

No doubt, IW is the brains behind the operation. Really, COD has a nice thing going with the dual devs.

BTW, W@W has sold 11 million copies. MW2 is going to sell an insane amount of games.

The problem with COD is that it doesn't have alien weapons. It needs stupid big guns that have ridiculous energy beams that can shoot through walls. Only then will I treat it as a serious FPS.

you can shot thru walls, and they do have laser guns

They really need a sarcasm/irony smiley. I'll have to look for one. In French they use the upside down exclamation point to show irony.
