(Partner in crime for those of you who aren't hip) Haven't played the series?!?!?!? Drop what you are doing right NOW and go to the PSN store! The graphics in FF7 aren't top notch but in 1997 we had never seen anything better from an RPG. |

| Haven't really played any of the Final Fantasy games fully. I've played a few of the demos, but I really didn't enjoy them. |

You have to CREATE an internal PS1/PS2 memory card before you can use it dillhole. |

| That shit is too hard to get, I think the first time I played that part, it took me nearly a dozen tries to beat those beasts and get the omnislash, but boy was it worth it!! |

W-Summon is worth it too. This is the strategy I use. Use Cloud. Weapon: Ultimate Weapon Armor: Mystile Accessory: Ribbon Materia: Double Cut or Slash All, Restore (for Regen), Enemy Skill (For the Skill: Big Guard), Ultima (In case your weapon breaks in the slot reel), and Counter, If you have the Counter Magic Materia pair that with Ultima. Also, I found a way to EASILY beat the two weapons the other day! |

I usually do an FF7 play through about once a year for the nostalgia feeling. I've played the shit out of that game since it came out. |

That's odd, it didn't come out until '97. I knew it! Sponge is a Time Bandit! |

| That's not a bad strategy, but I prefer this: (WARNING:Dangerously Cheap!) Cloud Weapon: Ultima Weapon Armor: Escort Guard Accessory: Ribbon Important Materia: Restore (Cure 3, Regen), Time (Haste), Enemy Skill (Big Guard, Laser), Mime(SUPER IMPORTANT), Morph, Double Cut is a plus but not necessary, Contain Optional -Summons (KOTR if you have it, Bahamut Zero if you have it) I pick the Ultima Weapon because I know I can keep Cloud's HP high so I'll almost always do max damage. I pick the Escort Guard over the Mystile because of it's good defense coupled with multiple elemental nulls, but specifically the Water null because of the high chance of fighting the Sea Serpent thing (Can't remember it's exact name.). It is commonly the last enemy, and it only has 3 attacks, two of which are water based and one is physical. And immunity to Earth, Bolt, and Poison don't hurt either. I pick the Ribbon because....well, you know.......it's the dang Ribbon! Immunity to status effects is just awesome. Restore, Contain, and Double Cut are all pretty obvious. Time for haste. Yes, Big Guard does cast Haste too, but it also costs about 56 MP. Haste alone is much cheaper. Mime (SUPER CHEAPNESS) for doing a limit break or powerful summon and then immediately again, for free in the case of summons, for the rest of the fight (unless my Command Materia gets broken). Laser and Morph are there because you just can't have enough Ribbons! Oh, Blessed Ochu! Thou art awesome. Btw,Erik, what's that good way to beat the Weapons? I'm always on the lookout for another good strategy. Is it the Hades thing? 'Cause that's a good one, too. |

| I have a strict "No Cheating on the first play through" rule, but I must say if you do decide to play Final Fantasy 2 in it's original form, then by all that is good and sweet in Odin's beard, you MUST cheat. OK, OK, it isn't strictly needed, but the level system of that one sucks soooooooooooo much that it took forever to do it. Wasn't nearly as bad on the GBA remake, but still not great. Here's how it works. Each weapon type/spell you use has a level and in using that one weapon type/spell repeatedly you increase it's power and level it up. OK so far. But then they applied the same formula to your stats. The more health you are out of at the end of a fight, the better chance your HP will go up. The more you use magic the higher your Magic stat will increase. Still doesn't sound that bad, right? Makes a kind of sense, eh? The more you practice with something the better you're going to get at it. But they carry the logic too far. Here's the downturn. As you increase one stat a corresponding stat will drop by the same amount! Couple that with the fact that it takes forever and a day plus infinity and beyond to level any spell past 6! UGGGGHHHHH>_< So do yourself a favor and play it on the GBA (In the Dawn of Souls two game combo that has both I & II) or get yourself an emulator and CHEAT YOUR BUTT OFF! The story was fine, but not worth the frustration. /rant What? Stay on topic? Oh, uh....FF7 is awesome! Like that? Woo! |
