This forum was set up to act as a network where all gamers could come together to shape the community they would like to be a part of.
While we will try to ensure the material inside is leaning toward a PG 13 setting, it is recommended by this administrative staff that no user under the age of eighteen should enter. If you do, you do so of your own will. It is our goal to make a safe, fun and friendly environment for all. However our Administrative and Moderation staff does work on a volunteer basis and it can not be guaranteed that one will be present at every hour of the day.
To help us in our goal of creating a safe and friendly environment these forum rules should be followed at all times.
Upon registering for this forum, you have agreed to the following terms
Additional Rules
When posting
1. No Flames! No hate.
We are all gamers here, and we are all human beings. Treat other members with the respect you would wish to be given. The Sixth Nation is meant to be a place of inclusion for all. Divisive posts and comments will be removed.
By definition:Flaming is a hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users. Flaming usually occurs in the social context of a discussion board, Internet Relay Chat (IRC) or even through e-mail. An Internet user typically generates a flame response to other posts or users posting on a site, and such a response is usually not constructive, does not clarify a discussion, and does not persuade others. Sometimes, flamers attempt to assert their authority, or establish a position of superiority over other users. Other times, a flamer is simply an individual who believes he or she carries the only valid opinion. This leads him or her to personally attack those who disagree. In some cases, flamers wish to upset and offend other members of the forum, in which case they can be called "trolls". Most often however, flames are angry or insulting messages transmitted by people who have strong feelings about a subject.
No Trolling!
By definition:posting controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.
2. No "calling out" or speaking negatively of any users or clan by directly naming them in open posts or topics. The administration and Moderation staff are here to help resolve conflict between users.
3. Slanderous or hate filled posts containing sexual harassment or the general intolerance toward any race, sex, age, or the LGBTQ community are
NOT allowed.
a. NO promotion of racial, ethnic, or religious hatred will be allowed.
b. No inappropriate or obscene language and/or images including posting any pornographic material.
4.Use the Search Feature before creating a new topic please. This is to reduce any threads of similar topics.
If you are unsure where to put a topic, pm a mod or admin for assistance. They are here to help.
a. Do not make multiple needless posts for the sole purpose of increasing your post count or nation Rank.
5.No fan boy BS please.
This can not be stressed enough. The Sixth Nation is a site where any kind of gamer can come.
We all have opinions, and we all have preferences in our gaming. We will not tolerate fights between console users or even game titles that result in flaming or trolling. Discuss and debate. But please do it constructively, on topic, and with a point.
6. No quotes pyramids!
It is asked here that you edited out what ever quotes that do not pertain to your comment, or other quotes that are needless to your post while using the quote or multi quote features.
Building "Quote Pyramids" ensures extra scrolling of pages for all, and can become an unpleasant experience to one who is looking for only certain things from a thread.
In general, they take up space and are a nuisance for all.
7. Please keep your posts relative to the topic title. While we love to see a little spam and friendly off topic chat from time to time, it creates a mess for those who are actively discussing the real topic at hand. There are many different types of general/off topic/ blog forums and threads for you to use. You will probably see more warnings about spam in the console forums but dont be surprised if one is issued anytime you have strayed too far off topic anywhere inside the forum.
Be mindful of your fellow community members. Respect the time they have to read and catch up, and the time they have invested into creating threads and topics.
8. No off site links in posts for promotion of other web sites or services.
a.Do not post chain letters, solicitations, pyramid schemes and advertisements. If you wish to promote your own website, please restrict this to the signature box, and your profile.
Advertisement is considered as "public promotion of some product of service" or "non-personal form of communication intended to persuade an audience (viewers, readers or listeners) to purchase or take some action."b.
Do share your YouTube channels etc in the vids section, as that is not "advertising" or "promoting" really other than you pwnage and that isnt going to hurt anyone beyond the ones you killed to make it.
9. Discussing ways on how to cheat in the online modes of gaming will not be tolerated.
a. This includes glitches, hacks, downloads and etc.
b. This also includes the discussion of torrent files, torrent trackers, BT clients, or anything leading to acquiring anything illegally.
c. Posting about software or hardware hacks, cracks, viruses or methods of acquiring anything illegally is not allowed.
10.Political and religious based topics and comments are
strongly discouraged.
While we are open to discussions on current events it is asked that all opinions, prejudices, misinformation, and anything that is dividing be checked at the door. There are plenty of other places across the internet you can do that. The Sixth Nation is a community for all gamers no matter what section of the world they live in or the beliefs they hold from their own life experiences. This is where we go to avoid all of that.
Ultimately, we only judge people by one thing here...and that is how you treat
other people.
Other general1.The Admin and mod staff work here on a volunteer basis. They are here to help ensure the forum is secure by enforcing these rules.
The instructions of a moderator at any given time are to be followed. If there is still a complaint following a moderator's actions, pm ANOTHER moderator, and the issue will be discussed by the mod and admin team. However, for the sake of forum peace, moderator and admin instructions are to be followed the first time,
every time.
2.Signature Stacks should be limited to two.
Like Quote Pyramids, too many sigs in a stack takes up too much window space.
If it is felt you have exceed an acceptable height, you will be asked to remove something.
Detailed restrictions as:
Single pic: maximum 500 pixels in height, 700 pixels width .
Sigbars or combination of pics: Please limit image sigs or stacks to 500 x 500 in size. This is an amendment to the previous 700 x 700. After seeing a few, that is just too big. Sorry guys. Anyone exceeding this limit, please re size accordingly.
Avatar: 200 x 200.
Your role as a user is important in ensuring these rules are followed. If you notice a topic or poster in violation of these rules, please send a personal message to one of the
Moderators, or use the report button in the top right corner of the message box (The image of an exclamation point), so the situation can be dealt with. Do not back seat mod and try to control the situation yourself. This too can be looked upon as trolling.
The report feature is there to help you do your part to enforce these rules with out being directly in the middle of any situation.
Please utilize this report feature appropriately.
Spamming the report button with False Alarms or spam will lead to warnings and then bans
Please note: This feature can be used for Reporting Abuse AND nominating good posts.
When you click the icon you will see at the top of the editing window a drop-down menu with three options:
* Nominate this post
* Report Abuse
* Forum maintenance (Lock/edit rquests..etc)
If violations of any of the above rules are made by a user, and verbal warnings go unheeded, a ban will be issued for a time decided upon by the moderation staff and the severity of the violation.
Any bypass accounts (new user name based from an existing logged I.P) will be permanently banned, and the main user account will accrue more vacation time.
These forum rules have been made to ensure the experience here is enjoyable for all.
