its funny how many years people say it has been in development. I've heard everything from 10 years to 16 (all in the past year)

Yeah I thoght it was 12 its hard to say it went threw so many cancelations and what not

duke 3d was released in 1996, so assuming that they started right after 3d was done, and ignoring the various times inbetween when it was dead thats 15 years in development.

My OH bought it yesterday and he laughs quite often whilst playing. He has said thought that you need to understand it is a parody of the stereotyped macho hero.

the original duke was the same way. the problem is that the game is running on an engine tht would work on ps2 and its been so long in the "making" that im sure its just about butchered it. its not hard to throw in random sexual references and profanity. i would hope they could make a good story

I've been watching a walkthrough of this on Youtube, and I've noticed a couple of things about this game.
It has as much story as Call of Duty, in that its an excuse to shoot things at A, shoot things on the way to B, shoot things at B, repeat until the game ends.
This game is leaking pop-culture references and not so subtle jests at other games and game studios out its pooper. See if you can find the top spinning in place during the dream sequence.
This game is fairly old school, so it should be a refreshing change of pace from todays CoD clones.

Its not looking like a AAA game, but it should be a good play when you're waiting between blockbusters.

That's how all the Duke's have been Omega.

But has anyone else gotten this yet?
