I'm convinced Leo uses some kind of alternate FS, that takes like, 12 shots to kill, but is really accurate. It's like the FAL of handguns. I've seen him pull off some of the most impressive crossmaps with it.

Agreed, on it being an excellent training tool. I used the FS almost exclusively from Half-Loaded to Glass Jaw, and when I got back to using my FAL, my aim was a lot better. All the small lessons you learn throughout the game, and by using things like weapons out of your comfort zone, or badges, are all cumulative. When I went back to my FAL, I had a much better perception of when a kill was possible, and when to let it walk away. I was a lot more aware of my close-range surroundings as well, which is a trap I fell into sometimes, being so used to looking down a scope so often.

There are all kinds of things you can pick up on, and learn from. I've watched the same 5 cinemas 20+ times, trying to pick up on little tricks, or learning new spots/FAL angles. I've had countless hours long conversations on AIM about game theory, and boosters, and playstyles. I've spent way too much time in customs trying to perfect little things, or get a feel for how things changed, in updates. It's all helped add to the player I was.


While DTI was nerfed, the nerf wasn't significant, I want to say it was somewhere around 15% total, in terms of accuracy reduction, compared to the original. It didn't detract from the booster being one of the most dominant boosters in the game, and DTI will continue to be one of the top tier boosters. Situational has had it's range nerfed and played with a few times as well, and it's not stopped it once, either.

The real issue comes more from the lack of competition for those booster slots, with Down the Irons and Situational Awareness really being two of the only "real" choices for your top slot booster. Badges and the utterly broken Turtle aside, there's just not much competition, so even despite their nerfs, they still reign supreme.

Congrats, on the improvement, Mitch. I told you it'd come quickly. Great job, and keep up the good work. Keep aiming higher, and keep improving yourself, and you soon you'll be looking at a 1.25, and then it'll continue to keep climbing. Props on the FAL use, too. Does my heart good to know someone's still picking it up, besides FABOLES.


EDIT - Man, I could write a book on the whole MP subject. The multiplayer was certainly a respectable entry into that aspect of gaming, especially for a first attempt. The thing is, they took some stances, and made some decisions that really hurt their standing, and I think this was a great example of too much tinkering under the hood. I'm not going to sit here and type paragraphs on how 1.4 was the "Golden Age" of Uncharted, but there's definitely been a magic that's been lost.

They tried to tweak and tinker too much, and then when things started to go wrong, they were unable/unwilling to admit that they'd changed too much, too rapidly, and either didn't have the foresight to understand how it would affect the game, or were unable to really understand where things went wrong, and go back to the source, and try to tinker again, or fix the issues they'd created.

The spawns are a great example of this. They've been on a steady decline for a long time, and for a long time, it was contained to Plunder. That issue eventually spread to Deathmatch, and really, it was a huge issue, and there were some truly ridiculous situations that never should have happened, even in the original. Sanctuary? Worst spawns in the game, at least of the non-DLC maps. Spawning in the same room as your opponents on Lost City? Awful. The Fort has some ugly spawns too, but that's why we always tried to use the buddy-system when we camped. It was a way to prevent those points from being used, and it also let us keep a much tighter grip on the top portion of the map.

I agree with everything you said Endlo, I have been involved in some dreadful spawn kills and deaths , especially on the Fort .

I had potential with the FS , unfortunately lag meant that most of the time (for me anyway ) I would be outgunned by AK users no matter how many bullets I get in them before they start shooting , even at distance . I'm starting to respect the FAL a bit more now , I lose about 70% of my AK 1 vs 1 fights now so I'm using the FAL a bit more now

A good 60-80% of my potential Rages never happened because of getting spawn-killed on the Fort.

Endlo you basically wrote an essay so a book should definitely be no problem for you, I have some ideas now on how to improve my K/D past its current standing at 1.02, hope I can get on today

Haha, just played a "famous" high level and his buddy (lvl 10), who also was the leader.

Sadly, he farm kills using DTI + FF and proceeds to talk himself up.
All 3 of them were FAL cornercamping at the fort, even against LOW LEVELS.

Seriously, I've had it with this game; lag, matchmaking glitchers, regular glitchers, lag again, spawns from hell, lag once more.

Why do I keep wasting time on this pile of donkeys poo.....

Beats me, I actually have some honor and use double BoHs when I play against people like that, I still remember taking on that party of people in the 60s/70s in that plunder match, went 31-16 against people I thought were going to just kill me 500 times a second

Im going to keep trying to get better , escpecially with the ak . No matter the matchmaking , lag or spawns .

Yeah, its pretty good for me, well since I'm a level 62 it is easier for me because there are more people around my skill level that are my level, I remember my early days, there were a number of times when I put against a group of 57+, not fun!

Tell me about it , before joining the nation my best streak was a 9 kill pistole spree in the sanctuary

sorry, guess that wasn't clear, I don't use BoH's against people who around my skill lvl but if I'm against a group of people who are lower than lvl 20 I use double BoH's in case there is someone who is much lower than me in the skill category so that it is not too easy for me

Happy day for me , sure there was still the same problems but i had a string of really great games like 19-4 and my KD went up to 1.01

I dunno whether I should say this but I'm starting to think I'm getting good at this game , I'm no Raist 2.0 but if I was playing how I am right now when I first started I think I would have a very respectable KD

you and me both Mitch, I'm getting like 1.5-2.0 k/d with positive boosters very often now

as an AK tip I am going to reiterate a tip that Raist has mentioned very often, when you have an enemy at long range burst it, will reduce recoil and maximize damage, but if you are at short distances that is when you want to go fully automatic with that AK

It's not just about the job.
It is also the fact that the mother of my daughter left me and I have to leave my apartment and move back home.

Kinda lost it all during a 6 month period.

But, as I stated before, these are all lessons to be learned and I am confident that something good will come out of all this.
I need to focus on the future, start all over and rewrite my history.

I'm not gonna go all bloggy here, but my life has been quite....odd, and I have my fair share of battle scars.
It's time to realize that my weakness may be my strength and that I can accomplish anything, as long as I set my mind to it.

Mitchell, I would go with Leo's suggestion and create a 2nd account just to see for yourself how much better you've gotten.
Playing against lower levels also allow you to try new things in a more comfortable surrounding, that's what I did at first when learning to bunny hop efficiently and working on my nades.

Friday is on then, I have to go and see my niece for her Birthday first, but I'll be on later, kicking butt and laughing at noobs.

My tips for AK use: Strap it onto your back and use your FS until you can get to the M4.
