| Yeah, I didn't buy it either. No need to ever buy guides these days. Heck, the whole guide can be found on the net, usually before the game is even released, lol.
I've used that site a bunch, and Dark Souls wiki as well. |

| And that's the game, folks! Platinum obtained. ^_^ Minimum Playthroughs: 3 (2 1/2, really) Reasons: Soul of [Last Boss] can be used to make a sword or get a miracle. Soul of Sif can be used to make a shield or one of two nearly identical swords. This gave me some grief until I found out which was which. The stat requirements are slightly different. Ask more when/if you need to know. Heck of a ride, and one I intend to take again. Letting my brother take a shot at it, but if there's time before Skyrim comes out then I'll be making a PvP character. I'll likely have the full review up sometime tomorrow. I was going to wait on the next patch, but instead I'll just do as I did before and note that the score may change once it's patched. |

| Awesome work! Congrats Cobalt!
I wish had more time to be on my 2nd playthrough, at least :/
It sounds like this platinum is easier then the Demon's Souls one. I know a buddy of mine has racked up over 40 million souls farming for Pure Bladestone to get his Demon's Souls plat, it still hasn't dropped, haha.

| Yeah, I traded for mine. Killing that dual katana black skeleton over 100 times was more than enough to earn it, imo. That's something I really like about this game is that there's one of each type of slab (the equivalent of a Pure) per playthrough. None of that random drop dependency crap. I also really like the cutting off tails for special weapons thing. It's remarkably similar to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] actually. Just wish they'd expanded it a little more. |

| Yeah, he has killed that guy sooo many times. Random drops tick me off. I do love your skill kill drop idea (Good read btw, thank you).
Yeah, I've gotten that from what I've seen so far, but I haven't even upgraded anything yet. I'm always affraid to until I know enough. I Hate wasting materials. No to mention at this point the drake sword is so good for me that ther is no real point to upgrade anything yet.
Quick question, will there ever be a storage person, or item? I'm getting tired of carrying 14 million wooden shields, lol. |

| The merchant in the Depths sells the Bottomless Box, which you can access from any bonfire. He's a guy in gold armor sitting by the wall near the door to Blighttown (the next area).
You can buy Titanite Shards from the Parish Blacksmith, and Large Titanite Shards and Green Shards from a merchant in a later level, so don't worry about wasting too much. Chunks are harder to come by until the very last area, where each of the (respawning) enemies is certain to drop one of each type. The only thing to be stingy with is your Slabs.
And thanks. I do mean to get that blog running again soon. |

| Ah, awesome. I want that box. I hate a messy inventory. One of the very, very few things that bug me about this game. I'm going to start working on weapons soon, I have the ember for the blacksmith, just need to get back to him, but since he is on the way to buy the stones to remove my curse, I will do it then |

| Started up a PvP character last night. Thinking of going with a low armor, heavy weapon mage. Got chickenhawked near the Capra Demon door. : I don't mind being invaded or dying in the least. But people specifically picking on low level characters is just pathetic. Level 20, and they were wearing a Fog Ring, Havel's Armor, and using a lightning enchanted sword (saw him spawn, not resin). If you play well enough to get to the point where you can have those at that low level, then why are you fighting newbies? Then again, I suppose he's only got to beat the Iron Golem to get that stuff. Perhaps he's only good at dodging. Still, what does he gain by doing this? Souls? Don't need those because they're not leveling. Humanity? Doesn't take that to invade. So, that's all in game reasons out. That just leaves the satisfaction of winning against another player. But when you only win because of better gear, what kind of satisfaction can you really get? It's just sad. |

| Cobalt, carry me to victory over Quelaag on my other character. My main is at seethe but i struggled to hard because I put to much into strength, so I started a pyromancer and am working my way to quelaag now. |

Ganking someone you out level/out gear by a huge amount takes no skill, and nets you nothing... well a centimeter on your epeen maybe... |

Errm...I'm level 53 now... About 20 too high for Quelaag. I can give you some good advice though. Maneater Mildred. Beat her near the swamp bonfire while human and you can summon her. She should be all the distraction you need. Let her tank, staying behind Quelaag and two handing your weapon. Be very careful to listen for the scream that means she's about to AoE blast all around her. One roll backwards should get you clear. If you do draw her fire, back off until Mildred aggros her again. Just mind the lava. For Seath, if you just want to beat him, not get his tail, then the Crystal Ring Shield will do it. Just bait him into an attack, dodge, and fire. Easy as that. |

| Patch coming tomorrow! Lots of changes and fixes. Original notes for it are in Japanese, but a redditor did a quick translation. - Quote :
- Gonna try to format this and fix translations to the best of my abilities. Let me know if I missed / fucked up anything.
Changed the sorceries "magic shield", "strong magic shield"
Changed TWoP slow effect, Fog Ring, Iron Flesh.
Stats scaling rebalanced.
"magic fire" magic power correction and tuning
not sure, maybe pyromancy getting rebalanced
Changed matchmaking process
Adjusted the amount of souls given to host when killing a boss.
Cracked eye orb will not break when invasion fails [I think]
Item drop rate adjustments (hopefully slabs are easier to find now...)
Male Undead Merchant in the Undead Burg sells bottomless box
Female Undead Merchant, Andre, Domhall, giant blacksmith, Vamos now sell various arrows and bolts, repair and weapon/armor upgrade boxes.
Giant Blacksmith now sells titanite shards, chunks, green shards, twinkling titanite (I think)
Ingward sells transient curses
Sunbros only require 25 max faith now
Absolution requires 500xSL instead of 2000xSL
Adjusted the lock on mechanic
Something about the level up menu
Something that may be removing spell swapping and the dragon head glitch (a guess, but seems likely based on what they've told us in the past).
fixing input delays.
Feeding titanite to frampt fixed behaviors when the result would give more than 99.

| I hope they don't nerf pyromancy to badly. I love my pyromancy . Oh, well, I know it's pretty strong right now, and I can easily get stats up again. Thanks for the list. Will be interesting to see how well it was translated |

| Pyromancy is a good bit too strong. Really, I think a dedicated mage build should be able to out damage something anyone can use, right? But my PvP character with 44 and climbing Intelligence using the best catalyst available and casting my strongest magics still can't keep up with one ascended pyromancy glove +5's middling spells. I might as well have just played a full on warrior with pyromancy (like my first character). In my opinion, it should be as effective as what niche it's filling. That is, a non-magic user's magic. A dedicated magic user's spells, which require permanent character direction, should outclass pyromancy at high levels.
I do hope we get to buy the twinkling titanite, though I won't bet on it. I'm going through the armors now and being able to just upgrade them all and see what's best would be nice. |

| Have you guys heard of the glitch where you kill a dragon with one arrow? I believe it's the one that gives you a drake sword if you take it's tail. I skimmed the patch notes and didn't see anything on it. Then again the only reason I know what I'm talking about is from a walk-through I've been watching, which may be out-dated.
Thinking about getting this game. Kind of a toss up between this and MW3. |

| I agree, pyromancy is OP'ed, but I never enjoy being nerfed, heh. Sorc should always out damage hybrid classes though.
@Silver, it's hard to say, both games provide tonnes of replayability. I have Dark Souls, love it, and will play it for many many many months. MW3, I am getting and will play it for, probably, the same amount of time. |

| Unfortunately, I'm finding that magic doesn't seem to be the way to go in PvP. Everyone has mastered the amazing art of spell dodging. Aka, slowly walking to the side. I may as well just go back to Pyromancy. lol

LOL!!! Awesome, and oh so true. I find AoE's to be the best as you can nuke them while attacking/stunning. |

| I finally got past Seethe the Scaleless, now I'm onto the Bed of Chaos. I did the 30 humanity short cut, but the room of caprademons are annoying. Even better was that I did one sprint run, and right before I got to the steps, I had an invader(was human to kindle the bonfire) and had to go back up to where the taurus demon is in front of the door. His AI invader was bugged and couldn't cross the door threshold, so I threw fireballs at him until he died and got 20,000 souls lol. |

| Tip for that area. - Spoiler:
When you find Seigmeyer (assuming you didn't kill him or anything) kill all but on of the monsters in front of him, then talk to him a couple times. Kill the last one together, then talk to him again. When next you go to Firelink, talk to the character there, then head to Ash Lake to finish the event. This will get you a Titanite Slab.

| I love how i'm so close, yet so far. I've downed Seethe, the bed of chaos and just went back and killed sif for the ring to go do the four kings. Got the four kings and nito left then off to the last boss. -sigh- SO CLOSE. still so much to do.
EDIT: So, I just beat it. lol. getting to nito and the four kings took me more then actually doing the fights, took me twice on the 4 kings and once on nito. Then dropped last boss. GG. |

I think I've settled on getting this game, out of the plethora of games being released this month and December. Hope I'm not disappointed. |

| Not at all, this game is still amazing. I know I have been busy, and haven't had much time to play, then UC3, and MW3 came out, once I ahve a bit of time I will be playing it again. I played Demon's Souls for over 2 years, I can't see this not being the same.
Once I start playing this more... again, I will be harrassing Cobalt with more questions lol |
