Whenever I find myself getting more annoyed than actually enjoying myself, I simply try new things.
That way, I have a good legitimate excuse if I do poorly, and I can mostly just goof around while getting better.

For instance, right now I'm using Turtle & Hell Blazer and actually doing some serious ownage (looking back on good times )

It's when I take it too seriously that I hate this game and it just makes me play even worse.

Yeah maybe Reo , would be cool if we could get others aswell

I'd be up for some games, I need to get back into U2 mode, might not be available until later in the week, though

Endlo, the thing with using Turtle & Hell Blazer is that you have to be good at positioning yourself and reading the game. Alot of people don't understand this.
Also, not often will you actually find teammates who can follow your lead and set up the other team for you to knock them down, and vice versa.

So many games have I been picking up the shield, gotten the attention of 3-4 guys and yet my teammates are unable to understand that they can flank for a few easy kills.

But overall I do agree that these 2 boosters can turn a game in your favor if you know how to utilize them.

I remember a few games I played with a friend of mine, we both grabbed a shield (The Fort) and we each got around 20 kills each, simply because we had eachothers backs.

It's surprising how few parties there is that sees the potential.

More GAU & Shield to the people!

Towards the end of my u2 career i loved using the gau for the sheer reason that it was such a mock on anyone you mowed down with it... If you know how to cover yourself with it it can be a fantastic weapon

Ahh, the Shield. I remember i put on Turtle and Sure Foot in an RPG deathmatch on the Fort. I blocked 8 RPGs in a row. He was screaming so loud on his mic. That had to be one of the best moments of my life.

Yeah I really suck with the shield every time I use it. I'm that guy you see moving slowly, so you flank around and shoot him in the back! hahah

Would be cool to learn how to use it properly though. Good to see you guys, hope to get some games in with all of you soon!

The Shield is something that most certainly takes a bit of work to use well. I think the only...circumstance really where it shines even if you're a bit new to it, is the Fort, because of the awkward situation it puts most backfield campers into. They've usually thrown their grenades at that point, and most aren't very comfortable with going out of their bubble, to get more.

Some of my favorite random bits on UC2 were because of the shield. The Sanctuary was always a good one, because if you head high, and grab it quick, before you get too involved in a skirmish with the other hammer-runner on the high ledge, they tend to kind of panic a bit. One went as far as just jumping off the ledge to their demise, as I waddled closer.

It's the kind of thing that just as often catches the opposing team unaware, if you're comfortable with using the Shield, because they so rarely come across that situation. They have no real frame of reference for it, other than throw a grenade and hope, which doesn't work very consistently if you're aware of what to do in those situations.

And, you better take up the GAU mantle, Reo. I know Vash would be proud.

Holy Crap, it's Endlo! I haaate that guy! All he does is stand in one spot and cornershoot. What a hack.

What can I say, I've been a long-standing advocate of Turtle and the Riot Shield. Turtle, Break Up and Hellblazer are my favorite boosters. Situational gets a big honorable mention, but it doesn't get any cooler than Turtle. It's just...the best.



It looks like the majority of the conversation has moved to the Uncharted 3 thread, which makes me kind of sad. The era of Uncharted 2, and all the history here is coming to an end. I don't think I'll be picking up Uncharted 3, so I might have to take a backseat this go-round, and just tell you guys to camp more from the sidelines.

One booster that I just recently picked up is Explosive Expert.

Now, I don't really NEED the extra grenade, but since I love using the nades and often get a few tricky ones each game, it just adds to the awesome effect. :grenade:

Same thing as using Treasure Bearer and whore the BBQ's.
My record is still 4 BBQ's in one game, don't think I'll ever top it, sadly enough.

Reo, please, please, please tell me you're running Treasure Bearer in Deathmatch. I remember I was so alone in that conversation, and everyone thought I was crazy for doing it, but I stand by it.

I'm only good at BBQing my teammates, as I'm sure Raist can vouch for, but he's done it to me enough times that I'd like to think we're even. It all started with Vash, but he just proved that shooting that tank was a sound theory, even if...it was someone on my team.

The real "1337" cred comes from those car kills, though. I only had one. I'm just a sham!

Haha, I actaully have used TB for quite a few games, although it doesn't help all that much.

Now what I REALLY want to become good at is sniping from the hip, getting some good help from our own sniping Jedi (Charlitos).

This conversation really makes me want to get back into the game...especially because I never really took the time to get that good.

Yup, you were there, Reo. My only car kill was a hammer fluke, and it was indeed on the plaza. Those cars were so delayed, in their explosions. The jeeps especially, on Fort, but they were also completely harmless, to boot.

Good to see you still around, Fawlty. How's the Uncharted going for you? I won't be able to join in, but I can still stand here on the sidelines and tell you guys all to camp more. Use more Situational, while you all are at it. Thanks in advance.

geez......that is one tough question to answer, I guess I would have to say The Sanctuary, just love the environment there and I think it was where I played my first set of good matches
