tbh, Watch, I would happily pay a couple extra dollars for all of the U2 maps, I enjoyed playing them a lot and am hoping that ND can find a successful way of implementing them into U3 MP

They are appropriate as DLC probably, a lot of people like the old maps. I think some other franchises have sold old maps as DLC. Change can be hard and people like familiar things which is why I think many people like the old maps in a new game... not to mention they don't have to learn new maps like new buyers into the franchise. I can see using them as DLC. But it seems like a cheap money saving move in a NEW game that I thought ND would be above technically and morally.

You're making the mistake of thinking that ND is the one that calls the shots on money saving moves and such Wink.

That's a publisher's decision, not a developer's.

You could always play UC2 if you really missed those maps and skins. Maybe they'll be on UC4 multiplayer.

New game = New experience. Its a slippery slope. Will all the new maps from UC3 be on UC4 ?? I want new stuff for my $60 bucks. Its like selling a car thats been painted a different color and calling it "new". Same old shit in a new game doesn't cut it for me.

And my primary goal is to have the best new experience from new games for my gaming $$. If I can't get that or I feel like the playing field isn't level I don't want to stick around or spend my money. At what point is retreading old shit going to be unacceptable ?? Will reused cut scenes or voice overs be ok . Can you see ND putting in the cruise ship scene from UC3 in the next game.... except they use a different skin and make it a battleship ?? Some players want to move on. Suppose there is a map you really really hate in UC2. You just can't friggin stand it ! You buy UC3 with a sigh of relief because you will get new maps and won't have to play that same old UC2 crappy map ever again ! Right ?? Nope your stuck with that map you hate for 2 more friggin years if you want to play UC3 MP. In MW3 some players are raising a stink because one friggin building was reused. We get whole maps reused and sit by and take it. I can understand ONE DLC for old maps because players may want to relive their UC2 experience... but packaging old crap/experience as new in a new game don't cut it. It gives me the feeling that ND isn't even trying with the MP anymore. I've defended Uncharted multiplayer against the haters before but now idk.

Finally someone who gets it.
Well put, Watch, I agree with pretty much 100% of what you just said.
When did it become "ok" for us as consumers to accept these terms that WE have to bend over for the companies goals?
They exists because of us, not the other way around and we can and SHOULD be making more demands on what is okay and what is not.

It's quite sad seeing a company like ND going from making games with passion and devotion to just doing what they think will make the numbers on that check bigger.

Why should I pay for a NEW FULL GAME when I receive a mashup of Uncharted 2 and a badly made COD game? Face it folks, so far the NEW features are just a bunch of borrowed and recycled ones. Nothing feels fresh or even fun for that fact.

Keep in mind that I'm not talking about the campaign here, that one was good (not perfect, but good).

If people think it's wrong to complain then we will never get a better product.
It's not strictly whining, it's about handing out honest opinions and not giving the companies a false image of everyone being happy about being screwed over.

As if feels like now, ND gave up when they stopped communicating with their fans during the later parts of Uncharted 2 MP. We got promised one last event and then nothing happened and they gave us no answer as to why.

They just don't care anymore.

Reo, if you want recycled, play Cod 4 all the way up to MW3 and tell me how much the core gameplay has changed. I can tell you right now, it hasn't changed hardly at all. Activ"recycle" does nothing but add new guns, attachments and perks. And yet the COD fans eat it up every year. The reason why is because they can't see how much they are being blindsided by activision.

A true cod fan thinks that the game changes every year. And no, new guns etc. is NOT change. I mean change as in like U2 to U3, where the very core is changed, although U3 is ot the best example Laughing

Even Tjough I give the COD series a lot of ahit, I still buy it eventually. I might buy it for Christmas justcbecause its the ONLY thing people are playing now. I give it my criticism, just because I want the game to be the best it can be. From what I've heard, a lot of problems got fixed from MW2 which is a step in the right direction, but they still have the knife problems.

My 2 cents on the matter. Hopefully I can still catch you in MW 3 or still in U3, Reo. Still gotta send you the cinemas, as I has lots of new footages Laughing

Just been feeling a bit screwed over jolli-timer.... when I saw on the ND forums that the Village was gonna be the next map to be recycled it totally ticked me off. I loved playing the Village on UC2 but it was getting old for me even then. I don't think expecting new maps on a new game is to much to ask. I think ND asking gamers to accept old maps on a new game is too much to ask. I really feel bad for folks who hated the UC2 maps like Highrise and now get them on UC3. I picked up over a dozen games in the last week or so. I'll have to see who is gonna get my $$ for DLC. I was going to get UC3 but now idk.

I get that but i think the problem is that the singleplayer mission doesnt allow MP maps to be made out of, you see how well brass city faired? The only singleplayer mission map that would make a good Mp map is the cruise ship or the ship yard, and yeah i agree that its their fault for designing the missions like that.
I for one am looking forward to the village, even tough i would like more MP maps set in the SP.

That's the thing, I don't like it when the core gameplay is changed as much as it has in Uncharted 3, especially when it's to the worse. Controls were flawless in Uncharted 2, now there is a delay input and the hit detection is really weird. Tell me, when you got someone with the sniper rifle in Uncharted 2, did you have to wait a second for the confirmed kill like with the T-bolt in Uncharted 3?
Why have I seen countless of hipfire kills that are confirmed when the guy does the melee?
Pulldowns not functioning as smootly like in Uncharted 2? ([You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] )

You can't blame everything on lag when it's clearly a part of bad game design.

What I meant by recycling is that we get the SAME maps, SAME skins and old, borrowed features from other games.
Where's the innovation we saw in Uncharted 2? Did ND forget about being unique and bring their own fantasy and vision into the game just to have a safe money cow to milk?

The MP maps should be BASED on the sections from the campaign, not complete copy&paste.
I really feel as if they have done just that in this game and been to focused on the visuals instead of how well it would actually work gameplay wise.

Uncharted 2 had this "arena" feeling to it whereas Uncharted 3 just feels like a sandbox game. And don't even think about controlling an area like in Uncharted 2 (where you HAD to be strategic). No, because "camping" is wrong, so ND decided to hand out free lag-nades and RPG's, or better - clusterbombs.....

They punish strategic players so that everyone can have mindless fun. I hate it. Laughing

Everyone saying how the core gameplay has changed so much needs to look at a franchise like Resistance or Red Faction where the core gameplay ACTUALLY changes in order to put your drastic changes in perspective. U3 is almost exactly the same as U2 gameplay wise. There are very subtle differences and/or issues, but it's not like they really deliberately altered much.

Oh and just to be clear, although I am disappointed in the game I do play it.
It has flaws, but it's still playable.
I just wanted to post this since, after reading my many negative posts, it might seem as if I hate the game itself. I do not.

So, to bring a more positive vibe into the thread....

I've tried doing a bit more hipfiring myself just to ease up on the frustration and it sure does help the numbers, haha.

Currently running with Flynns M9 and Jades Para 9, loving that combination. Might try t up my FAL skills later, but for now this is my go-to loadout.
Not sure though which kickback I wanna use, I've been going back and forth between Sniper/Smoke Bomb and occasionally the over-powered cluserbomb, just for the laughs Laughing

Might have a loadout consisting of the Kal-7 with Weapon Expert LVL.3 and the Arm Micro. Combine that with Creepy Crawlers and I be trolling fools day and night, haha.

What are some of you guys favorite maps?
I've been enjoying Syria and London Underground a bit more now, same thing with Desert Village. The only map I avoid at all cost is Yemen, haha.
