| Yes, I has teh Facebook. I think I managed to register on MyRes a few months ago but it was far too complicated to put myself through that ordeal again. Seems madness to me that a big company would make it so complicated to go on their website. |

| Killy, it's just an SMF forum like the original MyRes one was. I'm having trouble understanding what's hard about signing up. |

| I managed to register, but it was a right faff. I don't understand why you need to have a facebook account to register? Why is that a good idea. I do most of my posting on an iPhone so having to juggle two sites is not as easy as it might be. I understand you are going to be loyal to a site where you are a moderator, but if I want to discuss games, why do I have to give Sony access to my FB Profile? |

| I'm not anti fb, I just like to choose who I give access to it. Forgive me for my scepticism, but why would Sony/IG want access to my personal details? I'm sure they can be trusted not to rip any info I'm silly enough to put on there and sell it to the highest bidder. |

Oh, that's temporary until they get the PSN link working. The idea is you can earn unlocks on the site that will give you new skins etc in the R3 game. IG have everything in place to let the PSN linking happen, but the hold up is at Sony's end. I'm not being loyal because I'm a mod (that only happened last Thursday) but because I don't recall any hassle when I signed up in May. I recall it being very straightforward. Once the pSN link is active you could then remove FB access. Anyway, it's up to you, of course. FWIW, the site works pretty well on the iPhone. |

| Temporary since May? Forgive me if I snigger a bit. I hope the lag issues are a bit less temporary that the PSN delay.
I have just posted on MyRes, and I agree that it wasn't so bad. But it was a pain to register as I had to link it to my fb page that I rarely use.
So all those people who have got DL content have to wait until this link is done? |

Well, I mean, FB-ONLY is temp, I am sure they will leave the FB link in. But yes, Sony is taking rather longer to make the link than everyone would like. I guess they're still a bit twitchy since the great PSN hack. - Kilmory wrote:
So all those people who have got DL content have to wait until this link is done? Yup. Lots of us have amassed tons of XP from Global Resistance which should be transferrable to R3 once the account linking is in place. I think they're nearly there because one of the IG guys now has an accolade (forum profile medal) for linking his account to his PSN account. |

| With regards to Wadey not seeing his special edition extras appearing in game, when I went to download them from the store I started at the top of the list and worked my way down, downloading as I went, when I reached the bottom of the screen I found that the list actually scrolled further and the extras were repeated the same but with another version code along side them. Luckily my copy was the first batch that I had just downloaded and I didn't need to do them all again, but it may be the reason why yours haven't shown up properly. GG's to all so far that I've managed to game up with, even if it did end up with a rage-quit the other night when I was playing with Supe and Tech.. We were being spawn-camped and most of our team just stayed in the spawn, causing us all to group there after every death and when I managed to break out of it every time I got into a fair one on one it would freeze and stutter all over the place.. Soooo annoying when you know that you can Carbine headshot-drop most people given half a chance. |

if your mate got the game new in the box on the back of the instruction manual there should be a code that you redeem through PSN store its called an online pass and all you do is redeem the code and DL it and your good to go with the MP idk why its like that but it is it should only take 1-2 minutes . let me know if it works.thats what i had to do so it should work first time @ Leo my codes work now i had to re-install them then they worked . i knew about the disc code thingy so idk why it did not work the first time . |

| The new code is a way to get more money out of second hand games. If you buy any future games second hand you will have to pay for online access. |

| Only way they can really make money of second hand games. So if you see a game that has "Online Pass" or some such on it, make sure that you factor the cost of that in to the cost of buying the game second hand. |

| Be interesting to see what effect this has on the rental market. From now on you will have to understand you are only renting the SP content of the game, MP would be extra.
Just to be clear, this is not specific to this game - it is all future games. |

But youre right Killy. What are company's like GameFly going to do? |

| Rent single player games only. Unfortunately, even that's getting a dent because companies are starting to include "new purchase only" content. Case in point, RAGE. There's an entire questline you're locked out of if you don't buy it new. They say it's something small, and for the moment I believe them. But it always starts out small. Now that they've made a mess of it, they're trying to shut down the used games market. And-- I'm just gonna stop there. For the full comment stay tuned to MyRes Monthly. |

| Seeing as casuals love to rent/buy new. And Call of Duty is top tier for casuals. And CoD is free to play online. And other games are requiring passes...basically...they're going to be pushing casuals to sticking with CoD. >_> Personally, I prefer to reward those customers that actually buy new, by giving them free maps and other DLC goodies like BC2/SOCRAP 4 did. Even a 48 hour trial pass like MK had would have been sufficient. But taking the entire online hostage? Good luck getting people to buy the pass when they don't even know how the multiplayer is. And with the decreasing quality in shooters recently, it's a good thing there's no trial. |

| I think you will find the next CoD will have the on line pass too so even they will be hit.
Probably need a mod to split this from the R3 thread as it is generic rather than specific to R3. |

| This is just marketing tactics to the extreme. How many map packs for one game? Seriously! The price of the game & the packx. = 2 games. Client hostage to this.. blahhh Half finished games, with map packs containing recycled maps from previous games. I may be oldschool, yet when I buy a game I expect a finished game. If it needs a "few tweaks" then so be it. Full 30 mn DL patches, for which you are not even informed what the content of the patch is. Hummm There is near to no rental market for games in France, but most stores make their money on second hand sales, by using this online code system they are just squeezing money out of us yet again. Little game shops will not resist & big franchise names will take over. |
