Hmm...it looked pretty good. I'm only really interested in killing people online, so if that's in there I might be looking to pick this up. One thing that would be kind of exciting is the fact that there looks to be a variety in weapons & hopefully some imagination goes into them. I miss that, coming from the Resistance world.

from the looks of it, it would probably be more of a co-op based online, or something similar to bioshock

Oh boy, this looks amazing. I've always loved id games, since DOOM was my first game ever Looks very stylistic and has some fun weaponry... and no long amount of boring time running from point A to point B (but not running down linear corridors like previous id games). Very exciting indeed.

This is definately one that I'll keep an eye on, though I'm hoping that this one New Vegas don't step on each others toes.

Agreed. Got my eye on the both of them. Not knowing how far apart they were, I originally pegged this one as competition for Borderlands. As good as this looks, it might be a close call as to which is better.

So far, the differences between Rage and New Vegas seem to be as follows.
Rage: -Better graphics. -Greater emphasis on combat. -Vehicles.
New Vegas: -Far more emphasis on role play, character development (story wise and build wise). -More random awesome shit. Those who played Fallout 3 know what I'm talking about. -All around more emphasis on choice.
Commonalities: -Large degree of weapon customization; ammo types in Rage, everything you can think of in New Vegas. -Mutants. -Building items.
Both games are open world post-apocolyptic RPG/Shooter hybrids; New Vegas is more RPG, Rage is more shooter. Both look awesome.

rage looks pretty much = to borderlands with a slightly more RPG feel
if you played borderlands you can definitely see it in the game-play of rage. rage seems to be more detailed and refined than BL in all aspects, though
i like to look of it so far
only thing im skeptical about is that id has a tenancy to make ai that doesnt seem to understand any sort of combat other than see guy, shoot at guy. if guy takes cover, shoot cover. if guy shoots you take a step left or right (cover is for pansies), repeat until you kill or be killed. well, maybe not that bad, but it still isnt one of their strong points lol
Liking this trailer , sweet looking gameplay and graphics , will be watching and reading alot of reviews when this is released to see how it does

I was doing some reading, they wanted it to be 50g, also the 8g on the 3, 360 cd's is highly compressed to get it on there.
Looking at some trailers, it still looks pretty rpg'y

I'm going to pick this up and placed a pre-order for the ps3 version. However, after reading the linked article I may switch to the xbox version. Any thoughts on this? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I never paid much attention to how much space (ps3 here) my games are taking ... I looked out of interest - many are at 2 to 3 gig anyway.

Mossyoak did you notice that the guy whose blog thats from is "Microsoft Certified" ? If you look at his profile you will see all the "xbox 360 rules" "PS3 sucks" kind of comments he posts. Edge magazine did an update saying all platforms would be fine at 60 HZ Carmack himself has since tweeted " High compliment from E3 - people looking under the kiosks to verify that they were actually playing Rage on a PS3 and not a high end PC."
I don't like Fanboy bullshit, thats one of the reasons I'm here. In any event if you are worried , wait till reviews come out to see if one version is worse than the other.

yea i was just reading that and coming to post about that whole "fanboy" perspective. if you look at the guys profile, hes seems to be a general SONY hater. if its sony, he'll condemn it
if you read the comments youl see what i mean
anyways, anyone arguing for one or the other is comparing apples and oranges. its been kind of known since the release of both consoles that the PS is hard to code for. that why PS3 exclusives look so much better than multi-platform games. generally companies just write the code for a xbox/pc version and port it over to the ps3, which basically means you're getting a "scaled to ps3" version of the game because its saves money. its like companies that make a "one size fits all" version of a product. sure it works, but when you actually go out and find the same type of product that has sizes to fit, you find it feels so much better.
It never changes. When does gaming be about games, rather than "My console is better than your console!" "Yeah well my dick goes into women now fuck off."

I went ahead and paid off my preorder for ps3 version. I think I touched a nerve with Liam. Not about the console war here. I still have a working Sega Genesis, ps1,ps2, Wii, gamecube, xbox, psp, ds, and computer. I just want the best value for my buck. I'm old and cheap. I wish I still had my old Atari though.
