| To start with, I would like to say, if this is more suited in being in the already existing Bioshock:Infinite thread, please move it there if you see fit.
Now, obviously spoilers everywhere. The entire thing is gonna be spoilers, this is gonna be a bigger spoiler then the plywood spoilers rednecks put on their cars. And damn that's big.
Bioshock: Infinite , as anyone who has beat it knows, has one of the largest mindf@#ks in video game history. The girl he is trying to save to wipe away his debt turns out to be his daughter who he gave away to wipe away his debt. But it wasn't him, or was it. See?
Here is my view of what the story is:
"Bring us the girl, wipe away the debt..." This phrase is echoed by many characters, many times throughout the story, the Lutece's, Comstock, Booker, even Elizabeth herself. It starts, and ends with Comstock. The Prophet. Or, the, as I see it, Original Booker, who will from here on be referred to as either Comstock, or The Prophet. The year is 1874, Comstock is born under the name Booker Dewitt, 16 years later he takes part in the Battle of Wounded Knee, where he commits unspeakable acts. Some time between 1890 and 1893, he is offered a chance to redeem himself by Baptism, upon accepting this he becomes a new man, that man is Zachary Comstock. Three years later, Comstock launches the city of Columbia into the air, under means found by Rosalind Lutece. 1893, Elizabeth Comstock is "born", 1895, Lady Comstock is brutally murdered by a group of anarchists. 1901, The Boxer Rebellion, Comstock retaliates against the murder of Americans in the Rebellion, uses his flying city to raze Peking, and secedes from the United States. [Source-Hall of Heroes Historical Timeline]
Fast forward 11 years to 1912, which is when the events of Bioshock: Infinite take place. Booker Dewitt gets an ultimatum, "Bring us the girl, erase the debt." Travelling to the flying city of Columbia, Booker is greeted by a mysterious couple, who ask him to call heads or tails on a coinflip. No matter his choice, it lands on heads. As it had many times before, upon travelling on this seemingly perfect utopia, he gets a letter saying not to pick 77, and seeing signs to beware the False Shepard, who is said to be branded AD on his right hand, which, coincidentally(or not), Booker Dewitt has the same brand. At the lottery, he draws a ball with the number 77 on it, before throwing the baseball, a cop sees the brand and attempts to detain him. Booker fights off the officers and fights his way to Monument Island, where the girl, Elizabeth Comstock is being held. Upon rescuing her, her jailer of sorts, Songbird, attacks and destroys part of the statue she is being held in.
Fast forward to their travel to Fink Industries portion of Columbia. Given ANOTHER ultimatum, by Fitzroy, supply the Vox Populi enough weapons to stage an insurrection, and they can have their ship back to bring Elizabeth to New York. Upon finding the Gunsmith Chen Lin has been captured and killed by the Founder's. The mysterious couple who showed up earlier have been shown to be the Lutece's siblings. They explain the difference of where and when to Booker and Elizabeth, who turn to see a Tear, which is a rift in time/space that is manipulable by Elizabeth, after seeing that in the Tear Chen Lin is not dead in the chair, Elizabeth opens the Tear and they travel through. In this reality, they see that Chen Lin is very much alive, but it is a different Chen Lin, as opposed to having an Asian wife like the first Lin had, he has a Caucasian wife. They see that his tools are missing, and travel to the Impound lot of the founders, where they see the pile of tools, with another Tear in front of it. They open the tear and travel back to Lin's Gunshop to find him and his wife dead. This is where Elizabeth believes that it is her fault that they are dead. Booker tries to comfort her by explaining that it is not her fault, she could not have known what worlds she was bringing them to.
After bringing the weapons back, they travel through the Shantytown, where something strange has happened, it appears as though a THIRD Booker existed in this world. That being Comstock, the Booker playable character, and a Booker who died as a Martyr for the Vox Populi. This is the first example of the Multiverse theory being used in the game. There is the Base World, that the game starts in with a dead Chen Lin, then there is the Living Lin/Missing Tools world, then the Dead Lin/Booker Martyr world.
Fast forward to the ending, where it is shown that Booker is Elizabeth's Father, and Elizabeth is actually Anna Dewitt.
Now, for my actual theory:
Before the events of the game, there was only ONE world. The world that had Booker Dewitt be baptized to become Zachary Comstock. Zachary Comstock see's Rosalind Lutece through the Tears that she has made, and believes her to be the Arch Angel, allowing the alternating and shifting of worlds. Upon them meeting, he becomes the Prophet, and with the usage of the Tears, it renders him sterile, unable to create a child, and in need of a "Lamb", so to speak, he views into the tears until he see's himself in another world, in this world, Booker has just had his child, Anna Dewitt, to pay of his debts, he gives her up, to Robert Lutece, in doing so, he gives the Prophet a Lamb. When doing this, he tried to find her and stop it, but in doing so, he caused the pinky of Anna's to be separated. However, as he has lived multiple lives because of the tear, his memories are jumbled, and he end up creating his own, as seen in the phrase at the beginning of the game, "The mind of the subject will desperately struggle to create memories where none exist....". He is creating memories.
Voxophones by Rosalind Lutece say how she found a way to manipulate tears to bring her brother back, how usage of the tears rendered Comstock sterile. Comstock first saw Rosalind as the Arch Angel he sees in his vision. He uses her ability to obtain a child that he can not bear, in doing so, he takes Anna Dewitt from Booker, who then because of conflicting memories at this point, creates his own, that do not have Anna Dewitt in the crib in his office. Upon the release of the Siphon, Elizabeth learns it all, and opens doorways to various worlds, in which Dewitt makes different decisions, first she opens it to the Baptism, where he refuses, and stays Booker Dewitt, she then opens another door into his office, with Robert Lutece standing their saying "Give us the girl, erase the debt.", upon hearing this he opens his office door, and sees a crib, but not believing the memory, as he does not recall a child being there, but Elizabeth says that behind one of her doors, she sees him giving up the baby, so he gives the child to Lutece, and then tries to chase after him, he finds him, and tries to stop Comstock from taking her, but the tear they are going through closes on Anna's pinky, severing it, where Elizabeth's finger is severed.
In the end, to stop it from continuing, they must pull it from the root. Which mean's stopping Booker from giving away Anna, or becoming Comstock, which means interfering at the point of the baptism, his death must happen at the baptism, before either of the Booker's are created. Upon doing so, it opens the last of the doors, creating a world in which Booker did NOT give up Anna, and one where Comstock did not exist.
This is about what I've got. I'm not listening to the Voxophone's while writing, so something may be slightly mixed up. But, please add to what you think needs added to. I will add what I think needs added when I read into the Voxophones more.

| I will leave it to the community to decide whether or not they want this thread merged. If there are any complaints, please send them to me. In the meantime, please proceed.
I've added the word SPOILERS to your title to give people advance warning just in case. The title really should be enough of a giveaway, but I'd rather leave anyone who looks before thinking no excuse to be angry if possible. |

| Near the beginning of the game, Booker sees that he has AD branded on his right hand and that means he is the false prophet, I'm assuming Comstock knew that Booker was himself who had refused the baptism ?, I don't really understand how Comstock and Booker are within the same "reality" when Booker didn't enter a tear ?, are the lighthouses like tears ?.
I say this because Comstock stepped through a tear when he took Anna, so how did Booker come to be in Comstock's reality ? |

I say this because Comstock stepped through a tear when he took Anna, so how did Booker come to be in Comstock's reality ? Well, when the Lutce's were killed, they weren't really killed, they were scattered, allowing them to traverse space time without a Tear. So it can be assumed that at some point between being picked uo by the Luteces amd arriving at the lighthouse, the Luteces jumped ti the reality that Comstock existed in. |

| Oh yes of course, I was referring to near the beginning when Booker sees that poster that Comstock obviously put up knowing that Booker had those initials on his hand. |

| Ok, I was just getting a vibe that you didn't know.
I think Booker went over to the Comstock reality during the beginning as soon as he entered the Lighthouse he went through a rip, like how they did in the end.
Also I found it cool that the reverend in the beginning was the same one that baptized Booker after wounded knee he didn't recognize him of course because he was blind. |
