Well folks, it was bound to happen sometime, but Killzone 3 has been announced! I'm very excited about this, mainly because I love the Killzone series. Below are two stories.

"Sony's worst-kept secret, the upcoming release of Killzone 3, has apparently been blown wide open in the latest issue of GamePro. 3D effects, deeper melee combat and JETPACKS are all said to be part of the shenanigans this time around.

The jetpacks are a huge part of Killzone 3, according to the reports. They can be used as weapons by both the player and the Helghast, with the enemies apparently blowing up like "Roman candles" if shot. There will also be environmental obstacles that require use of the pack. There's also meant to be a new weapon called The Wasp, which fires multiple missiles in one shot.

As far as the story and setting goes, arctic levels have been revealed, and the Helghast are expected to shot some vestiges of humanity to their character. Hopefully they will get a little more depth to their character, as they always had potential to be fascinating villains. A little bit of art has been revealed, showing the Helghast dressed for winter combat. Still with the impractical orange eyes, of course.

Which leaves us with the matter of 3D. Allegedly, 3D effects are "crazy" and make up a big part of the game, although there is still major doubt that videogames featuring current-gen graphics can support the technology. Guess we'll have to see what they're done here.

Well, color me excited. Killzone 2 is one of my favorite shooters, and thus I shall be all over this. We can certainly expect more at E3. "

"Like it needed confirmation in the first place! SCEA president Jack Tretton has confirmed Killzone 3, stating that while he can't guarantee any news on the game will be had at E3, he can promise that the game is on the way. Thus ends the worst kept secret in Sony's bag of tricks.

"I’m saving the batter for E3. We will absolutely bring the heat," says Tretton, weirdly, on the latest episode of GTTV. "... We own Guerrilla [Games] and they did a great job on Killzone 1 and 2. I don’t know whether you’ll see announcements about it [at E3], but I can promise you a Killzone 3."

Sounds like Sony has some hotness in the works. I just hope it isn't all to do with PlayStation Move, and that the DualShock still has a part in Sony's current plans. In any case, I loved Killzone 2 with a passion, so I'm all about the idea of a new game coming. I've always got time to shoot Future Nazis in their space faces."

Lots of people will be crazy excited for this. Will be a rent for me just like KZ 2. Hopefully I will find more fun in this aside from the eye and ear gasm's that the 2nd one provided.

Nice. The ending of the second one didn't leave much in the way of doubt that there would be a third. Can't wait to see more on this.

I rented KZ2. Didn't make it past the first level. So like Duncan Bannatyne, "I'm out".

Yup. Maybe I'll rent it just to get slaughtered. What the hell. I'll give y'all a bit of target practice. I might rent KZ2 again just for the campaign trophies. I think a lot of other games came out at the same time as it, and they distracted me from it. I don't want what happened in MW2 to happen again, where I was almost the only one who didn't get it. Result: Lots of fun with buds missed out on.

Not many did the online I think, I know I did, liked it too cause I could play my own music on the PS3 while gaming up which was a nice touch. More games need to do that.

Thanks for the link but fedora hat pymp is in my way. Plus the camera capturing the source is blurry as heck and I have no doubt it doesn't do the quality any justice whatsoever.

Yea i herd about KZ3 gonna be sweet can't wait. I hope i can get in before the Multiplayer dies out again.

That's an interesting thought. For some reason, I kept thinking of how the Helghast are now without a major leader. Maybe there is starting to be serious infighting among them?

I wonder if KZ3 will stick with the class thing in multiplayer.
