Duke Nukem Forever. "Hail to the king, Baby"

I was one of the 1st people outside of the developers that got to play it, as it was unveiled at PAX.

There was an awesome looking trailer, and about a 20 minute demo that had lots of variety, from driving to shooting, and even a giant boss.

I know this has been years in the making. But I'm worried that its taken too long for people to really get excited for it like they wanted to since there's been so many let downs. Good to see its finally moving forward though.

Duke was the first online deathmatch that I ever played. I shall always love Duke for that.

Does this game release the day the world ends?

And I agree with Raist. It ought to be interesting to see how much hype develops for the game.

they are trying to get it into as many hands of gamers as possible.

and it is coming out in 2011

cant wait for the trailer to hit the net to watch it again, but its got to be rated by the esrb 1st

Im not that jazzed for it, really, although I haven't seen the trailer. I used to love Duke and Duke 3D was one of the funniest games i ever played.

that humor is still there, in fact they even make fun of themselves. in the trailer they talk about duke mysteriously disappearing, then later duke says "what? did you think I was gone forever"

Always bet on Duke.

I'm so glad this is finally coming out, Duke 3D made me the person I am today. I'm so excited, I don't even care if this game is awful, it's gonna get so much time, just for nostalgia's sake.

you have no idea how much randy pitchford (ceo of gearbox) loves using that line. I probably heard it at least a dozen times from him. though he literally did bet on duke,

also I totally agree with you on the whole nostalgia thing, but it is good beyond just that. some friends of mine who had never played duke got a chance to play it too, and they said they'd get it too, even if they gameplay wasn't that great, it would be worth getting for the humor alone.

2 favorite new duke lines. (after aliens take the women) "damn, why do they always take the hot ones" and (after seeing a giant 3 titted alien) "hell, i'd still hit that"

I recently bought Borderlands GOTY edition and while looking through the index for the borderlands thread I came across this thread.

Like -DJ- posted, without my knowing when I bought the GOTY edition I have early access to the demo, when it is released. I will be sure to post here how it is!

As someone who went to PAX, I'd say it had the longest line-up with Portal 2 very close behind it (I don't have actual numbers, I'm judging this based on what I saw). It was ridiculous. Killzone 3 and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood had comparable lineups too through most of the day but I think Duke's stayed long the whole time.

I'm not really interested in this so I gave the code to my dad since he knows more about this than me.

I went to PAX as well. ACB had a short line the 1st day (I went through it literally 8 or 9 times that day)

Dragon age 2 also had a huge line.

nobody, PAX East or West? I was at West on the Sunday and if I'd known you were there I'd try and say hi.

@DJ, I just got back from preordering that.

@azira, West. I was there all 3 days with my media pass (so I got to skip past most lines) I played the duke demo twice. 1st time I skipped right to the front using media badge. 2nd time my friends waited in line then when they got to the front I joined them
