The best time to use the shield is in a rocket deathmatch. Just take one rocket, then quickly jump and shoot away. Everyone is so surprised when something new happens to the. Lots of people must have never heared the saying, learn something new everyday.

Yup. Happened to me. I was like OMGWTFBBQ! Then I died. hehe

The best part about level 60 is you can run stupidly awesome booster combos. I have tried turtle/ sure foot in a rocket deathmatch, and it is surprisingly effective.But the satisfying part isn't getting the kill, it's makng the other guy ask how the hell you did that

That is my all-time favorite thing to do in Uncharted The riot shield is so much fun to play around with. People never expect it, and you can make some pretty sweet tactical decisions. I remember in the Temple during the Shotgun Lab, a guy grabbed the riot shield and then sat in the corner of the RPG room, beside the ledges that climbs up to the deagle spawn, and he was UNSTOPPABLE. I mean it. You couldn't get him from the front because of the riot shield. You couldn't get him from the back because of the wall. And everybody would try to get him, just to say "I got the guy in the corner!" But nobody could do it

If they throw it at your side or behind you, you're pretty much on your way to the respawn screen unless you get the hell outta there.
If they throw it AT you, or fire an RPG/Hammer shot, DON'T move. You will notice that when not moving, your character will crouch a bit and place the shield in a way so it covers your entire body - SUCCES!

Glass Jaw and Fleet Foot has been my go-to set-up. It was the set-up I ran from 57-60, with the excursion into Come Get Some during the double Cash Weekend, when I could play. It partially depends on the game type, Come Get Some is a pretty obvious choice in a Plunder, because the drawback is minimized through attention being elsewhere, and it's usually pretty easy to get 15 kills to guarantee you cap out. In Deathmatches, I've been rotating through a bunch of stuff.

In the past few nights, I've used Situational Awareness/Come Get Some, Situational Awareness/Half-Loaded, Rapid Hands/Half-Loaded, Juggler/Half.Loaded, Glass Jaw/Half-Loaded, Glass Jaw/Fleet Foot. I just can't quite seem to find where I'm most comfortable. I'll likely end up sticking with Glass Jaw and Fleet Foot, it's been the most effective combination for me thus far, and it's tried and true.

I still want to find a way to be comfortable with Come Get Some though, because nothing really beats out that kind of earning potential. It won't really matter come this weekend, with the pending Double Cash, I'll probably be rocking Down the Irons and Come Get Some, and just playing Plunder to get my money. I'm about 3 million away from 61, and I'd like to at the very least, make a good run on 62, to feel like I made some progress with it.

Oh Yeah, you, me, the guys and unfortunately not Charlitos since he hates plunder, are going rock the plunder lobbies, we will destroy, as most clans do in plunder

The Shield is strange. Charlitos, Vash and myself have all done a bunch of work with it, for a while, Turtle was my booster. You can tank Hammer rounds, BBQs, Grenades, RPGS, and just about anything else you can think of, it's just a matter of how you're positioned, and if you know what you're doing.

My favorite shield plays have happened on Sanctuary. We took it downstairs, and I just sat in the hallway with a Pistole, that was pretty amusing. Got a few people before they wised up,and starting going the other way, right into Vash.

The other was right at the start of the match, I go up the back ledge, where it spawns, and snag it, and the M9. I start waddling towards the other side, and their spawn, and a grenade flies out of the cover. I plant the shield, tank it, and start to move again. A person pops up real quick, to make sure I really am coming, and then the blindfire starts. As I get closer, panic sets in, and the player just bailed, right off the edge of the map. Running leap into the void.


Recently, I've not used it a whole lot. I used it the other night on Fort, to mess with some spawn campers, they were in the cover, behind the boxes, and would stand up to aim and shoot at my shield, making them easy targets for our campers, and then hooked Reo up with a free kill while a guy was distracted trying to shoot at the shield. It's power really comes from the fact that people really just have no clue what to do against it, and then just kind of panic, as you get closer, or they realize they can't do anything to you.

Haha, that is so true, as soon as someone gets aware of the fact that the shield or GAU is being in the enemies posession, they draw to that location like flies to....yeah, too dirty word

It's like "Hey, everybody! If we don't kill that shield guy, it's an insta-loss. Lets shoot that undestructable piece of metal until it surrenders"

That game on the Fort was pretty amusing. They saw me coming, and just kinda stood there, each just blasting away with it at the FAl. Then the shots starting coming from our side, and the first guy drops. The second seems oblivious to this, and just keeps plinking away at the shield, not doing a thing, as I move slowly forward.

It's not really something that people use, hell, I remember the game when I found out the shield wasn't useless. It was an Elimination on Temple, and it was myself versus their last guy, who was camping with the Hammer in the grenade room. I grabbed the shield, headed down the stairs, and took four Hammer rounds without as much as a flinch. Total fluke, but it opened up the doors to us testing it more, and finding out how to take the grenades, and the rockets, and from there, we just view it was another tool for some situations. It's pretty funny to use, because you can just read that the people have no idea what to do, most of the time. Doubly so if their grenade doesn't work, the confusion is priceless.

Wow, five days of Dubs Cash. I'm digging that, I'm on the verge of 61, hoping I can make a good run at at least 62 with the weekend.

And they could not Cap it, I think that's one of the few things that would make me rage quit but the troopers, they all stayed, except for one who lagged out 0-3 at the beginning of the game.
