Nope. My room mate and I were playing and I accidentally picked up cash that the rats stole from him.

Nope. The cash the rats steal can be picked up by anyone, and accrue only to the person who picks it up.
So if any of you all have any sense, follow me around. I bleed money like a hemophiliac around rats. Laughing

PostSubject: Re: Borderlands 2   Borderlands 2 - Page 5 EmptyFri Nov 23, 2012 1:56 am

Finished the DLC.
Largely unimpressed by the bosses. Not their personality (which was as excellent as always in all characters across the board), but their actual fights. Some of them were crazy high damage in a short time. Some where far too weak. Most were a bit of both.
I am armed to the teeth, so that probably has something to do with it. But even if I hadn't farmed/received good weapons, I still think I would have had no trouble on any but the second to last. On that one you're given very little to indicate what's going on. And while it certainly fits the profile of the boss, it's really not that fun to die out of nowhere and not know why.

Payoff was as bad as the one for the Destroyer in BL1, if you can believe it.
...
Well, not quite, I guess, but comparable.

Took a shot at the Invincible boss for this one. Managed to get through half his shield before he killed me. Again, no great indicator on the mechanics of this fight. At least in this one you do seem to have some control over something, but without a full explanation I'm not sure what. Not really complaining about that part, mind you. I just don't feel the drive to figure it out myself right now.

Some of the missions are lazy. Some are really funny, but some are lazy. There are several that have multiple tiers to them, so you're basically just doing the same mission 3 times and it gets slightly harder. Not super impressive.

Most of the DLC was still pretty fun, but most of the fun came from the flavor. From the characters and mission themes, not the actual missions themselves.
So far it seems to me that the DLCs are following the same level of quality that they did in BL1. I'd equate Scarlet's DLC with Dr. Ned's, then Torgue's with the Moxxi's Underdome. Hopefully the next one takes a big jump in quality like Knoxx brought us.

I think I'm mostly done for a good while now. Probably play some PC stuff until Dishonored gets here. Anyone can feel free to call on me if you need help, or want to take on one of the Invincible bosses.

I'm thinking that they're going to be doing something with the various corporations. Dr. Ned focused on Jakobs. Knoxx on Atlas. The main game was all about Hyperion, of course. Now we've got Torgue. What more we got? Vladoff, Tediore (which I doubt will show as they are also Explosion focused), Maliwan? Chances are it'll focus on one of those.

Everyone knows how some guns use more than one round per shot right (ie: shotguns, grenade launchers)? I think it makes sense that these guns should take more than one round every time you fire but I wish there was some way of knowing how many times you can shoot before reloading (besides the stat card). Maybe some brackets with a red number in between them next to the regular clip count? Thoughts?

Are there unique grenade drops from Terra?
davedave got one last night, and hoovered it up before I could take a good look at it. Then I forgot to have him show it to me again before we were done.

Has anyone else taken the relic you get from scooter's sister, and just raced the 3rd race in the crater race over and over to pile up torgue credits yet? I know the route for the race, and it's not too difficult to do it without the relic, but with the relic, it'd be cake. By my math, you could score an orange gun just about every hour that way. [/way over thinking this]

Four people...well, it's not technically required for Vermi, but he has very little chance to spawn unless you have that many people.
I'd go for it, and if you need me I'll be there. But otherwise I'll be taking a break from the game for some time.

Rx, Terra drops the Breath of Terramorphous genade.

Thought about going back for that relic as I hadn't done that mission yet. Managed it without it, but I had to cheap it. What route do you take? Both the ramps? I had to cut several seconds off by leaving a second car on top of the second checkpoint, then passing the first and warping to it from near the bar.
I'm glad there's an Orange vendor, but I wish it wasn't just Torgue. None of their stuff really appeals to me. I'll be spending all my tokens on the heads and skins.

J, not sure why, but elemental damage doesn't seem as strong as it was in the first game. Maybe that's just because I haven't found a Volcano yet, or because my last playthrough of that was with Lilith. Hopefully, if there's a Maliwan DLC it'll have some guns that really pack an elemental punch.

PostSubject: Re: Borderlands 2   Borderlands 2 - Page 5 EmptySun Nov 25, 2012 12:41 pm

The gimme route to 1:45 or less is as follows.
Boost from the word go through the first checkpoint.
Go around moxxxi's to the LEFT, not on the road to the right.
Go up the hill, around to the left, and towards, but not up the ramp, like you're going to go find the vault symbol at the top of the bridge. Instead, ramp off the rock just to the right of the actual ramp.
Done correctly, this will drop you in front of the next checkpoint, and in a roughly straight line to the next check point, which if timed correctly, you have a full boost for.
Boost to the next check point, but exit boost with about 3 bars of boost left. This will carry you through the check point. There will now be a ramp up to a bridge to your roughly 1 o'clock. Your boost will be regenerating by the time you approach it. Boost up until you're SURE you'll land, and cut the boost off.
Avoid the ramp to your left at the top, and the biker spawn to your left, and drive down where the bridge breaks off, moving straight, at the left side of the road. Done correctly, when you land, you'll land between a large sign, and a wrecked car. The next checkpoint is now in front of you, to your roughly 11 o'clock. Upon landing, optimally, you'll have between 6 and 8 seconds left, and your boost should be full. Drop the hammer, and bingo.

6 to 8 seconds on the second lap, I mean to say. On the first run through, if you cross the start/finish line with less than about 52 seconds, you're prolly toast, and should consider restarting. The boost locations change slightly on the second lap, but it's still pretty intuitive.

Without the relic for cars, my best time is 1:43. It's tight, but if you run clean, you're golden.

Ah. I did almost the same route, except I did take the ramp to the first bridge. Flying straight off the rock instead is a great move. The bridge itself is good too, but you have to slow down to straighten out, and then there's a course correction to hit the second checkpoint that adds on another couple of seconds.

I was trying to think of some other ways that might be useful, but didn't find much. Just made me think of other stuff.
Let's throw out some random ideas here.
What would you all like to see in the next DLC? Not just the basic stuff like more Inventory/Bank space, level cap increase, and such. What kind of enemies? What kind of bosses? Equipment? Story? Character?

I'd like to see more of a focus on the characters. Missions that delve into the backstories for our four default heroes. A few echo logs aren't enough.

I would really like that, as we missed out on back stories and individual character development in terms of personality in the first one and wouldn't like to see that happen again. I felt in the first one I was playing the same character just different powers and kind feel that in the second one as well. A bit more uniqueness to the story for each character would be nice.

Beat the new DLC on normal though and only did main story no side stuff
I liked Tourge he crack me up.
Had a crak at the new invicable boss got through all this sheild in
No time and got his health down to 1/3!!
1v1 I could take him but the more his health goes down the more enemies spawn
So you spend all your time shooting them and not him.
Still pretty happy the I got him down to 1/3 of his health Smile
