Yes, playthrough 2.5 is playthrough number 3. Gearbox just has one of the most awesome senses of humor in the game design industry.

So to start play through 3 do I just

It's not an actual 3rd playthrough. Once you enter the vault and complete the "Find Steele" mission on your second playthrough all enemies throughout Pandora will scale according to your level, within two levels of you. None of the missions reset (unfortunately) but all loot drops, including loot from chests will be able to appear in the highest quality possible. There will still be rubbish but almost every gun you find will have some sort of use. Because of this many people like to go through the different areas of the game searching for loot chests and hunting badass enemies for loot (usually to kill Crawmerax).

Gearbox should have made it possible to re-do missions from mission givers in exchange for even better-than-playthrough 2 loot, in my opinion. Hopefully B2 will have something like this but badass ranks will likely keep us all busy anyway.

just picked it up out of the loot from crawmerax it was a co-op game at the time

yeh im that sad i play co-op with myself
i use my soldier lev 69 and load up a other class iv got and take both to craw then just leave
my low level class at the bottom and kill him with my soldier you can level up fast
and my hope was with two players the loot would be better

Hey, now. I spent just as much time on the elevator. It's only happenstance that I got the killing blow on Craw a few times. Definitely a team effort. If Wadey is soloing him, he's doing better than I ever did.
