Justin Richmond says in that video that they "Did what (they) set out to do... we made a best in class Multi-player.".
I think that's a bit of a stretch. U2 was great and I still have fun playing it but all of us know this and this topic has been beaten to death on this forum. ND &*%$ed up with the MP (sorry to be crude). It still stands as a great place to start and if I remember correctly ND has some big ambitions for their MP. I'm confident that U3 will be a massive success and full of win. ND is not stupid, and while they used to be inexperienced in the MP scene, I'm confident in their ability to fix things fast, if problems even arise in the first place.
I've seen some of you guys with a U3 avatar. Is that a paid-to-download thing or did it come with the announcement theme?
If you sign up to receive updates from their official site they'll give you a code by e-mail to download it.

Yeah, I got the theme, but when I go to change my avy there are only the free ones there and they all suck, except of course for Altair.

They still achieved best in class. though the competition isn't really there. What other action platformer has MP near U2?
Also imo the MP was perfect in the beta, what they had to begin with was truly great. that crappified it by giving the majority what they wanted.
There's been an announcement already? thats awesome, who made the announcement though? Anything short of naughty dog or sony and I hold back on being too excited.....
Sony first hinted on an "huge" announcement on the 12th of Dec. On the 11h, the Spike Game Awards were on which showcased about 5 upcoming games and the last game they showed was the reveal of Sony's new game, U3 . They even showed a trailer
After all that it went viral (the trailer) the next day and wala!
P.S - I was freaking out about the announcement. Hoping for U3, Kingdom Hearts 3, or some other awesome game. Luckily, mu wish came true . I was watching at the edge of my seat when they revealed the desert/treasure/elephant statue screaming that it was U3
I think I heard from someone that Elena is already confirmed to be in U3, hopefully that means that it's not a prequel. I have no idea why, but I don't really like prequels, when a game ends I usually want to see what happens next.
I am confused why you guys are saying U2 MP is not as good as it used to be...I still find it very enjoyable and way better than the short attention span CoD MP.
It's a matter of opinion and perspective. Play the game as long as we have and little things get bigger and bigger, until it's too big to ignore.
I have played it since its release...And I know sometimes things don't go as smoothly but we can ask for it to be perfect. I have yet come to any glitches and rarely find horrible matches. Please state an example on what needs improving?

You are in the lucky minority of people that ALWAYS have fun playing that game then. The rest of us have to deal with lag, horrendous spawns (especially on the lost city) and ridiculously unbalanced team making. By small things this is a perfect example. How hard is it to add up the total level of every player in the lobby, then give each team an equal level total to make sure that matches are reasonably close.
For example say a level 53, 52, 36, 70, 45, 47, 61, 50, 33 and 57 all get into the same lobby.
The sum of those levels is 504. So if each team where to be "even" then each team's level total would be one half of 504, 257. The balanced team would look like...
Team one -53 -70 -45 -33 -57
Level total = 258
Team two -(everyone else)
Level total = 256
In the pre-game waiting screen where the teams are revealed this would look extremely balanced and in the end would have a good chance of being a long, close match, forcing each player to either learn, or use all of the things they have learned to good use. For example when I learned to strafe back and forth. I'll go ahead and say that that tactic is useless to me now because I never play anyone that can out shoot me (again I REALLY hate to toot my own horn but it's true). As a result my strafing is terrible now because I get no practice with it. The match making has made me "plateau" as a player as there's no challenge and no way to improve as a 1V1 player.

And of course, at the other end of the spectrum, you'll get matched up against a five-man squad of 70+ levels, and you have next to no hope of getting more than ten kills total against them the whole match. There needs to be a separate system to sort out parties and place them accordingly (as in, not against a bunch of level 40-55 guys all rolling solo).

Oh yes, thank you turtle, I forgot to mention that (which happens 80% of the time now). I was just tired when I posted that.

Guys could i just ask that we dont continue this conversation on this thread??
Crimson if you want some answers check the uncharted 2 thread. This topic has been discussed in a great amount of detail. So much in fact that I became a little bored with it. I love uncharted 2 and I dont really want to be repeating whats been discussed in detail.
So could I ask that theres no talk about U2 MP faults on this thread unless you're relating it to U3? I'm just sick of hearing it.
