What modes are included in the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta?
There are nine modes. Team Deathmatch (duh), 3-Team Deathmatch (three teams of two face off), Team Objective (complete the assigned goals), Free For All (kill everyone), Plunder (capture the treasure), High Stakes (gamble with your XP and cash), and three co-op modes I can't tell you about yet but swear I will blow them out this week.

What Mods are in the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta?
For your long guns, there are two -- clip size and Call Out (which shows the location of enemies). For the pistols, you can increase the total amount of ammo and the rate of fire for the Arm Micro.

What characters are in the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta?
If you choose to be a hero, you can be Nathan Drake, Sully or a treasure hunter. If you're going to be a villain, you're a pirate. However, remember that you can customize the hell out of these characters. Shirts, hats, sunglasses, and more will help you make your avatar your own.

Team Deathmatch, Team Objective and Plunder are 5v5. Three-Team Deathmatch is 2v2v2. Free for All and High Stakes are 8 players. Co-op ranges, but we'll get to that.

Which maps are in the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta?
There's an airfield one and a French chateau. Both are multi-level with plenty to climb. They each pack dynamic events to keep the matches lively like attacking planes and collapsing structures. Check out our Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta map flythroughs to see the arenas.

What Uncharted 3 power plays are in the beta?
As touched on in the multiplayer reveal, Uncharted 3 packs power plays. These are one-minute events that'll occur in blowouts to give the losing team a fighting chance (although the winning team can benefit, too). The Uncharted 3 multiplayer packs four Power Plays.

•Marked Man - A person on the winning team is marked, and the losing team gets 3 points if they kill him. Meanwhile, the winning team gets double cash for each kill and a special medal if the Marked Man doesn't die.


•Cursed - The winning team sees all characters as skeletons and friendly fire is turned on. Each time the losing team gets a kill or the winning team kills one of its own, the losing team gets two points. Meanwhile, the winning team gets double cash for each member of the losing team killed.


•Exposed - The winning team's location is revealed to the losing team. The winning team gets double cash for each losing team member killed.


•Double Damage - Losing team inflicts double damage. Winning team earns double cash for each kill.

What boosters are available in the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta?
Boosters -- equipable abilities that affect gameplay -- are back in Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, but they've been revamped. When you choose one of these abilities and use it, you earn experience points for it. So, you're leveling up your profile and your abilities individually when you play the game. The Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta is going to feature eight boosters spread over two slots.

Booster Slot 1 Options

•Come Here - See the opponent that killed you on your radar until he or she dies.


•Retaliation - Spawn with the Power Weapon you were killed by.


•Cloaked - Opponents won't see you on the radar and you can't be heard.


•Weapon Expert - Gives you the ability to add additional mods to you weapons.

Booster Slot 2 Options

•Back in the Saddle - Reduces your respawn time.


•Bargain - Decreases the cost of Medal Kickbacks. (Special powers you set before the game and have to earn in a match.)


•Power Hunter - See the location of Power Weapons.


•Daredevil - When you taunt over a defeated opponent, you get extra ammo.

What Medal Kickbacks are in the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta?
Before you start a match, you decide which Medal Kickback you want to use. When you're out there on the battlefield and start earning medals, you start building toward your kickback. Get the amount of medals needed to use the kickback, and you can pull off the uber-maneuver.

•Smoke Bomb - You vanish in a puff of smoke.


•Speedy G - You get a speed boost.


•RPG!!! - You instantly spawn an RPG.


•Cluster Bomb - One grenade explodes into multiple grenades.

What guns are in the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta?
AK-47, G-Mal and the Dragon Sniper round out the long guns. Pistols are also included, and the above Medal Kickback confirms RPGs.

Power plays, IMO, sound stupid. Especially the cursed one, and the exposed (AKA, SA). I think it will be one major problem the game has, as it will reward noobs (both kinds) which, no game should ever do. You want to be good at a game, take the time to get good at it. Everything else sounds pretty cool, 'cept some of the boosters.

Goddamn I'm excited. Although I have PSN+ on the 28th I'll be on a roadtrip back from NY. I may not get much beta action in before July 13th but I'm damn sure gonna try my best!

I'm pretty excited as well. I loved Uncharted 2's online modes (especially Co-Op), so I definitely can't wait to give U3's modes a shot.

Little sceptical about power plays, but everything else sounds awesome

ign has details on the power plays.

one makes it so 1 person on the winning team is marked, and the whole other team can see him and gets double points for killing him, and winning team gets double cash while they protect the marked man

one basically gives invalid to winning team, and they get double cash for kills

but the most interesting one makes it so the winning team sees everyone as skeletons, and friendly fire is on, winning team gets double cash for kills and losing team gets points for kills and any team kills the winning team does

The high stakes to me sounds like a BLOPS Wager Match, without the varying game types. Just FFA, like you said, Nobody

I think I won't bother playing any High Stakes matches, unless I get VERY bored one day lol

Overly competetive? Also for people who will like to try something new, or just generally like the gametype.

if you like the gametype just play deathmatch. gameplay wise its the same. except you wont lose xp when you lose

I've heard something that will be new to U3, a minimap, I know I kind of threw that out as an idea but that was really just an idea, I can spew out ideas with absolutely no meaning to them at all at almost any time of day, but I really don't think that the execution of this idea will be very good, might actually make the game feel weird, as one of you guys said when I threw out the idea of a minimap, think it might have been nobody? correct me if I'm wrong on that end lol

When it comes to competitiveness I'm not that competitive, at least not always, get in the middle of a football game and that might be a different story, maybe I suffer a little from gamer rage but I think that there is a difference between gamer rage and competitive gaming, idk though, maybe I'll give High Stakes a go or two but it'll probably be a game time decision lol

Arne confirmed that IGN wrote the description of the booster incorrectly. What IGN wrote about the booster "Come Here" which enables you to see the person who last killed you on your radar, really means that you will be able to see their name and player arrow across the whole map, according to Arne. I don't really like the whole idea of it, but I do like it so much more than having a radar.

And for one of the power plays, Cursed, does that not sound retartedly over powered? I mean, what is the winning team supposed to do? If everyone looks like skeletons to them, how can they know if the person who is shooting at them a teammate or an enemy? I guess the advantage there world be to camp, and be in a party. It would avoid the teamkilling, and would make for a more organized chaos. That power play just seems unfair to me, no matter how much the winning team is up by. And does the thing last for the entire rest of the game, or only a few minutes? Will you be able to see the name of people if you aim at them, like Infiltrators in KZ3? Anxious to see how this all plays out.

yes i am very much against a mini map and that probably was me, but i wouldn't be so nice as to say it feels weird.

my 2 favorite online shooters both dont have minimaps
