| on vehicle heavy conquest maps i have been able to hold deny main roads to all enemy armor (armour) with the mines. equip the explosive ammo perk and litterally sow the main roads with em. usually you will get disables, which is great because the gut jerk reaction is to bail out of something disabled. get some ammo and do it all over again. thus you can control the flow of the fight around a specific base. deny the enemy the use of vehicles and you have leveled the playing field. in rush its a little harder to perfect since the main routes for tanks will be heavily gaurded by fresh spawning attackers. ive worked with a sniper before to set off my mines with his rifle when squads were near. i get a couple kills, he gets the spots and picks off the stragglers. do i miss being able to repair that much? no, because people just drive away while im trying to. @dingo cool beans, i gotta get some rounds in with you. |

WHAT? I don't want to use the mines now. What's the point of being an engineer if you can't fix things? I'd swap the mines for the RPG launcher, which is what DICE did for BC2. I wonder if it was a balance issue thing then. |

I'd swap the mines for the RPG launcher, which is what DICE did for BC2. I wonder if it was a balance issue thing then. I think it's because the Stinger missile makes you too vulnerable to tanks... 1. Drop down a few mines 2. Run off to shoot jets 3. ???? 4. PROFIT!!! |

| I'm starting to think it's the jets that they're worried about then. If you had mines and a repair tool then you'd be fine for the most part. If you had helicopters then you'd be kind of screwed. Maybe with the addition of jets you'd be really vulnerable.
Still doesn't make much sense if you consider that the other three classes don't have anything that they can use against jets. Not a fan of dropping the repair tool in exchange for mines. |

| Chopper + 2 guys in passager seats with stingers = Total air domination.
Me loves the buggy in this game, theres nothing like mowing down enemies with the car. Got 8 in a row before a rocket hit it making me hide in corner of building till help arrived. |

| LOL dingo! might need to mend your bumper on it pretty soon?
ive yet to run across jets that were a threat to the ground war. ill pop them with a stinger if they are making strafing runs, but generally those arent effective.
to paraphrase the afghanis in the soviet invasion "we dont fear the russians, only thier helicopters". ive been up against some really good helicopter crews and they are the real terror of the skies. whats really a paradox here is that ive seen up to half of my team be engineers, yet NO ONE will attack airborne threats, lol.
actually this is worrying me because i like to rock engineer, but with so many people now doing it i feel the need to run assault or medic because support services are desparately needed.
i would wager some cyber money that working with a squad you knew, repair tool will equal out in more points. you just cant get around the fact that you must expose yourself to drop the mines (no...not that kind of expose....) for the chance to wreck a vehicle. whats instantly going to help your team will be keeping the tank/armoured car alive as long as possible.
so i guess what my ramblings boil down to is "two sides of the same coin". hmm dont know why i just didnt say that in the first place?
anyone getting tired of the rpg spamming down corridors?

| Me is going to get a recorder so me can show you all the lols me having.
Today me took out a scout chopper with 1 rpg that went inside the chopper killing all inside it. Sadly the chopper fell on top of me causing a suicide.
2 squads on the team me was in played chicken with tanks while either being in hummers or scout choppers. Me was in chopper shooting at the tank to get its attention while the awesome pilot was beasting at avoiding the fire. People in the hummer screamed head on at the tank then pealed off last sec while 1 guy jumped out infront of tank and planted the mines then took off into scrub for pick up from either the hummer or chopper. After a few tries of throwing mines off the chopper onto the tanks me scored payday with a destroyed tank with double kills. 15000xp off till the javelin is mine *evil laughter* |

| dingo, i was as excited as you were for javelin, but my hopes were crushed. the lock on time is very long. also the way the round travels can result in a premature explosion because it clipped something >_<
if i gotta go head to head with a tank i try and stay close to it because i can move faster than the turret travel, but the javelin negates my strategy. hopefully you will do much much better with it than i do! |

| Javelins + Dingo = Sniper with a rocket.
Use to use it heaps on COD as a supressor so think me will do the same on BF3. |

| I've finished the first three co-op missions. Time to work on the next three. I don't know if I'll ever have the enthusiasm to finish the SP. |

| Just did a bit of the co op. I love it, no ifs or buts... Just the random crap you have to put up with... Plus I needed to vent after this one... - Spoiler:
Honestly, either this guy is new to fps games, is 6 years old or has no hands... Either way, it was quite luls in the end Ok, here we go!! I would like to express my absolute and utter rage over the co op person I was just playing with. I stayed up on the bridge mowing guys down, whilst he was running at the enemy with his knife... Seriously, wtf... Eventually, after him dying 4 times, we took down the first part because he decided to go prone at the bottom of the stairs and spot. Not the best strategy, but better than the first idea. The next part pissed me off to no end. He just sat in the corner and did nothing. absolutely NOTHING!!! Meaning, I'm taking out guys on the ground and guys on the roof... While he just lets a tank roll right past him... Last section was the straw that broke the camel's back!! He ran down the street and got killed... I had no way to get to him. We failed.Me: No way man, he's not going to... Oh, wtf... WTF!!! He going to... *team-mate dies* COME ON!!! Oh shi, oh shi, oh shi!" *runs in "THIS IS SPARTA", gets suppressed* "Eh, screw it..." *Create message, Select from friends, finds username* "Your feet glued to the ground bro?" *send* Decided to have 1 more go, he stayed at the spawn area... THE... ENTIRE... TIME...
Sorry to those who can't stand rage vents, but it was either here, or throw something at the TV |

| Woah Ninja, that's positively mellow compared to some raging I've seen. Yeah, getting frustrated and not telling isn't the best idea. I know I've had some times when there might have been a controller in the TV. I had apparently unlocked the Stinger and had forgotten. Time to try it out! |

In fact, you could almost invite your 5 year old sister to enjoy this M-rated family fun. |

| Best way to take out a aerial attacker with a stinger is very simple.
Lock on to them but do not fire as the majority of people will panic and let off the flares. When they do you will have to lock on again but they will not have any flares to drop so it makes them easy pickings.
Its even better when you team up with someone and do it so it will take out the aerial attackers in seconds and most of the time you score enemy kills too since they dont realise there are 2 rockets coming at them. |

| ^this is truth. it seems that people dont understand that there are two tones differentiating between solid lock and incoming missile. just a notice that ill be off of my headset until i can get my settings fixed. im disconnecting way too much and have linked it back, so i dont want anyone to think that im being rude. so if you dont get any garbled speech from me thats why |

| I'm not sure if I can tell between the two tones (since I can't remember atm) but when the HUD says there's a lock on me I usually wait a bit before setting off the flares. It's what I'd do if I was on the locking-on end: wait for the flares to go, then fire. As a pilot I just wait for him to think I have no flares, then when it comes use them. I might get some play time in tonight but I won't be playing tomorrow. Something doesn't sit right when I pick up a game on Remembrance Day, and it REALLY doesn't sit well if it involves shooting people. |

| 353m headshot with bolt action rifle and to make it funny me was not aiming at the guy me got lol. So wish there was killcams as that player would feel bad.
Had a mortar fight lastnight and after the round ended the other player sent me this "Thanks for the fun match" Me sent one back "Back at ya, it was me first go with the mortars so me had no clue how to use it lol". |

I don't think I'll see her on it once Skyrim comes out though. |
