| I can give you a top 3. The rest are pretty even except for the ones I outright hate. The Good: Cracked Radiation Hanoi The Bad: Nuketown Summit Havana Havana wouldn't be on there except that the gun emplacement spawn is broken. You can be stuck there for an entire game. It's no fun to just spawn camp or be spawn camped. And the other maps... Spawn killing is all they are. The Meh: Firing Range Not a bad map by itself, though the spawns there can get you sometimes too. I'm just thoroughly sick of it because everyone always votes for it, and they always play twice. Getting to the point that I'll ditch the lobby if it looks like it's coming up. |

| Kinda curious. Why do people like Summit? It's second only to Nuketown in the number of times I've spawn, then immediately been shot in the back by someone else who's just spawned? What redeeming trait am I missing? |

| I tend to play Hardcore Search with a mate of mine and Summit works pretty well for that game mode. Small maps tend to work better for some reason, though Grid is an expection because as a larger map it still works well. |

| Well, I can see the map being a lot better if you're not spawning. To me it just feels way too small for a 12 person TDM. Maybe 8. Like with Nuketown, there are just too few ways to get from point A to point B. If you're in the upstairs room, then you have exactly three direct threat areas for a fairly large and very defensible position. If you're not lucky enough to be holding that position, then you'll either be mowed down by spawning near the mountain side (if not by the guys camping the main door, then by the guy standing/prone on the raised outside area of the upstairs), approaching the stairway to the upstairs room (usually while leaving the cliff spawn area by one of only two ways, both of which subject you to camping from either the other end of the outside upstairs, or from the top of the stairs itself which covers the warehouse and center alley routes), or if you try to go the outside way from cliff or mountain side and in through the door near the gondola, that too is easily camped from the same place as the guy camping the main door. With three organized people you can own this entire map. Any other players you have are either further protecting your position, or more often are standing outside the spawns. Just makes for a generally unenjoyable experience no matter which side I'm on. |

| i run aroiund the map a lot so i guess i find it a bit more fun. i hate being in the upper "L" room cause i know everyone is gunning for it. actually there are 4 areas of threat in the "L" room. people can climb the boxes at the back of the balcony area where "C" flag is. this isnt including grenades being thrown through the windows from inside the building by where b is. i tend to take the catwalk side where you can go under the balcony and shoot up through the inward facing windows. plus you know a guy will be camping the inner corner of the "L" so a well placed grenade through the window can do the job pretty nicely. heres a pic of the "L" room building and the mountain spawn to show what i mean: green arrows go up strairs purple are climb spots teal is windows [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Oh, I'm well aware of the boxes. But they're also covered by either the guy standing over them, or the claymore he left at the top. If they're covering it at all, then you'll never make it up the boxes. If you spawn mountainside, then that one guy can just wreck your whole day, especially if he has lag in his favor (but what are the odds of that... ) No, the fourth threat area is from the window next to the filing cabinet. You can climb up on the computer equipment in the lower room and jump up to climb through. I've surprised many a camper that way. However, to get there you have to make it though one of the various heavily defended entrances. Either under that guy over the boxes, through the outer alley and around (assuming no one is watching from the other end of the same upstairs area), or through the large main room, which means your entrances are by the gondola stairs, or through the lower main door, which is also usually camped to support both the stairs and alley campers. Grenades can help, but you can hardly see the upstairs from the floor, so you're likely throwing blind. Even then there's a good chance they'll have a Flak Jacket anyway if they're used to their stationary style. The map is just too small. There's only one place to be on it. Either you're in the main building, or you've just spawned outside and are headed towards it. |

| i find that people rarely cover the balcony area where you climb the boxes. there are like 10 different ways you can approach that area. sometimes certain strategies will work, and sometimes they wont. and theres always the part where you can avoid the area completely. most people get impatient and start to move around if the area is avoided. we can build hypothetical situations about how one area will/wont be defended, or who it will be doing what, to infant-um. our opinions differ along with out playstyle and thats all there is to it |

| Really, it's not a matter of play style, B. I'm a Run & Gunner too. I'm only stationary if I need cover, or the spot provides a major tactical advantage for the moment. This is about poor map design compounded by broken spawns. You're right that no defense will work perfectly 100% of the time. But the map's design allows the really effective ones to be set up with too much ease. Looking through all the heatmaps for Summit in my Recent Plays, it's really obvious. The vast majority of overall deaths (aside from mine) take place clumped outside the building's entrances. The entire cliff side area is narrow killing tubes that funnel to one spot. The mountainside spawn is open and provides too much easy spawn killing area.
No, to make this map playable it would need more space. About a third again as much at least on the same side as the upstairs area, so as to provide constant threat from that angle, in addition to giving everyone a lot more places to go on spawn. Maybe with a walkway or two stretched between them. Or failing that, a third level beneath the main floor and stretching the length of the map with numerous branch points. |

Any tips on how to finish this perk off?
For offensive medals in domination you have to kill enemies while they are in the vicinity of their own flag. By far the easiest way to get offensive medals though is Capture the Flag, you have to take the enemy flag and every kill you get while holding the flag you get an offensive medal, you can play one game and have all 10 without too much difficulty, I have got 40 offensive medals in a game before. - CobaltMonkey wrote:

I absolutely hate Summit as well, I have no idea why it gets voted in so often either. |

| @FoG: Thanks for the tips. I'll try it.
Re Summit: I really like Summit now. I think it's because I've found a rhythm and patrol style for that map that suits me. I haven't found a rhythm for Jungle, Hanoi, Cracked, Crisis, or Grid, so I don't like them much. |

| G11, for hardcore, is amazing as well as core. Just give yourself the time to aim. but if you're lagging with 2 bars, use a fully auto. Burst doesn't work at all w/ lag! |
