| looked back and didnt see this sooooo, sorry if i missed it, but this is straight from the IG boards - Quote :
- Then Resistance:
- They recap R2 - Capelli started a family with Susan (Hale's Stepsister) - Their son is sick so Capelli has to go to New York to get an anti-virus - Malikov LIVES!! - They confirm co-op campaign (Capelli, Malikov, & John Harper [Capelli's partner]) are key characters (but no alternate story co-op like R2) - They describe a couple scenes (some related to the leaked images) - One of the multiplayer maps is in an African Prison - Chimeran Plant Life (that explodes when shot) shows that the world is changing - Describes some boat scenes from the campaign - Talk about the new smarter AI (climb over walls, and through windows and stuff) - Long legs jumping from roof to roof shooting down at you - The Mutator: A new weapon that shoots biological mist that causes boils and stuff on the enemy and then makes them pop hurting the other nearby enemies Secondary fire makes them go insane and attack their buddies - Other Weapons: Bullseye, Magnum, Shotgun, Auger, carbine are all back... and all weapons are upgradable as you use them more and more Weapons are also made to look more improvised so... grenades are shaped like food cans full of nails and such... - Online was talked about but not much is known yet: it says they wanna make it more organized and not a cluster like the 60 player matches in R2 - Also Ted Price handed the reigns to Marcus Smith to do alot of the other work - Humans eating humans cuz lack of food... NICE!
Story: Basically Capelli is trying to get the Hale Vaccine which was made by Malikov from Hale's blood... the vaccine may cure the chimeran virus... Capelli is doing this to save his son so he goes with Malikov to New York, St. Louis, etc. They also have no more gas so everything needs to be run off of Chimeran Energy cores which have to be stolen from chimeran ships...
PHEW!!! alot of info but i covered all the basics... I feel like im the only one who got it today so any quesions? i cant take pics or i'll get banned by the mods so this is the best i can do for now! On some of this, I'm with you, Az. If they go back to weapon spawns/wheel in multiplayer, then I doubt I'll play it. |

| Pretty much all you can do. Remember when R2 was coming out we were all "This is gonna be AWESOME!" we overhyped ourselves and put way to much expectation on the game. Could be be underhyping ourselves now?
Or perhaps we shouldn't judge a product till its finished. |

| what's wrong about any of that? I really like that the weapon wheel is back. Before it was kind of: "ok, now you will need a splicer, so here it is. Now a Laark, so you know it will be huge, here it is." It kind of gave away what to expect next. In multiplayer you could get one or tow guys who had run for the Laark, but as there were only a couple in each map, you killed those and that was it. Even though it needed to be activated, in R2 you could find loads of people using amazingly powerful weapons, plus invisibility berserk, I ended up giving up the multiplayer. Same happened to me with MW2, anyway, I disliked it when people started to exploit the noobtubes and so on. So it is probably just me. Good idea to bring back the 2 coop online and offline. Shame we lose the 8 co-op, but if multiplayer is well done, then it won't be that much of a problem. Idk, I am looking forward to it. I like what I have seen so far. |

| It still gets rented before I purchase. I mean...a gun that shoots a gas cloud? What is this Ratchet and Clank? I dont want to sound harsh, but with each title release they only prove to me they should stick to the kiddie games. I'll give it a shot, trust me. But Im not hopeful or optimistic. The story sounds......well, half assed. The online better be gold or I just wont have much use for it. |

that was one of the beast ways to meet people They have removed it, wadey. JS said they decided to focus on single player this time around and it made more sense to integrate co-op in the single player story. You can play online or offline. Idk, Six, they always had some weapon that was different to other games. Personally I prefer they do not make a replica of any Call of Duty/Medal of Honor/Realistic-ish war game. I find the Resistance games refreshing because although they do have weapons and is a FPS, the theme is different and the loadouts and so on are also different. However, games like Bioshock or Killzone had even crazier weapons and powers. For me, they keep usually the balance. Idk... Anyway, I think it is better to put expectations down and get surprised nicely that putting the expectations high and be disappointed. So it might be a wise decision to rent it first. |

| ...But when R2 was released, everybody was all "Where's our split-screen co-op, IG? WTF, how dare you?". It's not like they're shutting down the R2 servers or anything, you'll still be able to play 8p co-op missions on it. The pressure to release a 'catch-all' title in the gaming industry is immense, partly the reason we have things like Noob-tube abusers, Super-soldiers etc.. Let the players fit the game, I say... Not the other way round. |

| What I feel bad about is that IG has to see all the "BAH THIS SUCKS!" so soon on their forums, kinda like some people aren't giving it a chance, from their perspective, that people are already complaining about it.
Still Gamers never change |

the dragon shot a gas cloud...just it was ignited when it was shot i just want to see what they do with cappelli. no hale (as far as we know) is going to be weird, but its not like he was a key part in the story up until they bring up him and shepherd being tested on. if it wasnt for that in R2 hale would have just been "the guy you play as" and not much more |

| Not really, considering he got shot in the head point blank range, I would find it weird if he was in it. He was starting to turn into a freaking superpowered hybrid at the end of the second game so how do you continuity to that?
Character change would suit, spreads the story out some more. |

| i kind hoping they dont use the same colour pallet. i was not a fan of the the heavy, bright reds and greens in r2. made it a little too colourfull. going back to the old grey colour pallet probably wouldnt work either, because im assuming there will be sunshine in this game as well unlike FOM where it was always cloudy/indoors/night time. maybe just keep the bloom down a bit and maybe stick with a more mid-tones colour pallet also hoping they dont completely revert back to the old online style. im not a fan of weapon spawns |

| I'm thinking they'll probably be going with the look previewed in the teaser trailer... Washed out desert tones with lots of decay and rust everywhere. IMHO, weapon spawns would still work but you always get people camping the power-kit. Maybe a combination of the two would work well, you choose a weapon loadout but have ammo spawns around the map... Possibly with Proto-type perks and such added. |

| the live action one? the live action trailer just looks llike they threw a prple/orange gradiant map on it. and a pretty heavy one at that. i wouldnt mind it as much as r2 but having most things looking purple would bother me a bit also what i dont get is how they got a whole train in the trailer. like maybe an engine and some cars, but that thing has all the fixings. i thought the chimera had pretty much one |

Still Gamers never change its the negative opinions that are always the loudest. when people feel like something needs to change they feel like they need to speak up. but if they have what they want they have no need to do that. U2 should be evidence of that |

That reminded me something I read in the IG boards. A guy was saying last month that he did not believe that IG was doing Resistance 3 because "a technical guy from a shop who was an ex-Insomniac or knew one" said that if it wasn't in the ING magazine, that was not true and also that he knew for a matter of fact that IG didn't have big projects... His other argument was that the video trailer (as agreed by that "tech guy") was dodgy and looked as if "it was done in some guy's backyard"... JS killed the thread having a massive laugh and saying that those 2 years they had been working in a game that did not exist. Hylarious thread. I was thinking who on earth have a moving train in the backyard.. |

Personally, I'd rather have 'the guy you play as' than a meathead on 'roid rage. I agree on the weapon spawns though. Sucks having to deal with getting spawn camped by people who control the lark spawn. |
