I don't know how much c it weighs. But does it do ANYTHING? At all? I notice no difference what so ever.

I've done it. I've found a game with lag that is so much worse than Uncharted. I didn't think that I would ever find this discovery, let alone this soon, that is this rediculously terrible.

I've hardly had any lag issues with MAG. Maybe you guys got into a bad game? It happens. I can think of one ugly game, within the last week, and with the way MAG handles connections, it's usually pretty evenly spread out. It's definitely nowhere close to Uncharted 2's lag, in my experience.

The armor goes in increments of 2, up to 12. For the most part, the armors that are a set-up, the "enhanced," aren't going to offer a lot more protection.
The exception to this is the Heavy+ armor, which is the 12c, which offers a pretty significant increase in durability, at a negligible penalty to speed. It's hardly noticeable, and it's in no way a penalty for taking such a powerful set of armor.
It actually penalizes players who want more than a gun in their loadout, because they're at such a disadvantage compared to players in the Heavy+. Electronics, or guns that sport any kind of attachments are becoming a bit less popular on Valor, in lieu of shotguns and LMGs, because of it. You'll often see almost full squads in it, with just medkits and shotguns/LMGs/KP5's.
Valor is in a weird spot, because they have a really solid shotgun, and the KP5, their SMG, is light, reloads quickly, yet packs the power of an Assault Rifle. They're in the best spot to actually take advantage of it, and you'll see them doing so, often.

I have not notice much lag at all. I recently moved from my TV room to comptuer (actually the family chased me out) and so now I'm off the wifii and onto a hard/fast DSL line.

also, I've been doing mostly 50% Directives and so have ended up in a fair number of domination matches. Still no lag and only one lock up so far. The domaination maps are incredible.

Dumb question. I assume most of the games I've been playing don't have much squad leader interaction.

In learning, I've made it through these steps:

1. try and follow the guys out of the spawn - i.e. chicken with head cut off effect
2. learn to follow the big square box with the arrow/distance
2a. if offense run to 30 meters, die, rinse and repeat.
2b. if defense run to 0 meters, figure which way the enemy is coming, go 30 meters towards them, die, rinse repeat.
2c. in defense, when xp whoring or bored, look for big columns of smoke -- run there with fixit kit.
3. I think I'm suppose to be going to SL markers?

Ok, point 3 above --- I assume I'm not reading the screen correctly, or most of the games I've played the SL is not dropping markers.

In Domination a few times, I see a yellow U shaped icon with arrow/distance ... kind of looks like a tuning fork. Is this the SL's marker?

I'm thinking its about time to get myself kicked and see how the SL markers, air strikes etc. work ... I assume I'd be a better player if I understood all the visual and audio clues triggered by my leaders/other players.

Any thoughts here would be much appreciated:

A voice says something like I am engauging your target, Is this meaningful to me? I have not played around at all with my arrow keys, should I be calling in hot spots?

The only game modes which leadership, actually means anything other than the leadership bonuses are in acquistion, interdiction and domination.

You got it, that tuning fork is the squad leaders marker. To be honest I almost never see this used, usually it's placed on there by accident when trying to frago something, that's what I find anyway. so I tend to ignore it, however sometimes if your squad leader has a mic they might try to organise everyone like "Everyone meet up at the marker and attack the bunker from the right" then I go to the marker. But most of the time I just ignore it. But that's just me.

I can remember when I first got a leadership position I was overwhelmed by what to do, so what I recommend is that next time you are partied up with Endlo- or me, try applying for a position and we will happily talk you through what to do and what everything does. Yeah, you're either about to die from the incoming strike on your head or there's one very close to you.

I'm not quite sure what voice over you mean, what game mode is this in? The arrow keys are mainly used and useful if you're a leader.
UP brings up the chat channel select, if you're a leader you have access to different channels of chat to talk to other leaders and do team and platoon broadcasts depend on what leader you are.
RIGHT is the squad requests button, scroll through these options and it does a call out for what you choose to your squad members and shows an icon of what you want above your character, mainly just useful for people who don't have a mic.
DOWN is the frago commands/identify target button, if you are squad leader this is one way to frago objectives on the go, if you're any other person then it just brings up all of the targets/objectives in your vicinity eg bunkers, control panels, gates, APCs etc.
LEFT is the command abilities/strikes this is only available if you're a leader of some description and playing in a game mode where there's mortar batteries ie not suppression or sabotage. While holding down LEFT you can call in any of your strikes or abilities while on the move using the curser which appears.

Once you understand what all of the strikes are this voice over becomes very handy, you can tell which strikes are being called in and whether or not you need to run from the coloured smoke which just appeared in front of you. In domination there are a few voice overs too which indicate what the OIC's are doing, like if you're defending the voice over says something along the lines of "The enemy have slowed our reinforcements." This for an example is when the attacking OIC calls in the blockade ability, which causes the defending team to have a 30 second respawn for three minutes. So listening and understand what each voice over means can help you understand what's happening and influence your decisions on the battlefield. Continuing the example from before if I hear that our reinforcements have been slowed, I am much less inclined to bleed out, as no one likes to have to wait for a 28 second respawn.

Just fyi the red is my input, hope it helps.

The new escalation dlc is finally coming out Nov 2 ([You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]), soooo looking forward to it, I loved the game mode in the beta so it should be good. The new weapons should make things more interesting but you can be sure that there bill be many people claiming the weapons are over powered I can assure you. Although I haven't been able to find anything on the stats of any of them yet. But I'm definitely buying this dlc, even though I get the dlc 2 days later in New Zealand Sad you can be sure I will be on there once it does come bounce

On a side note I got my 600th grim reaper ribbon!!! cheers Excited

The Tamsen is going to be an Assault Rifle of some type, so you'll be able to put the standard AR attachments onto it. Suppressor, Foregrip, Grenade Launcher, Bipod, Reflex Sight, Optical Sight, etc.


I'm curious to see where it falls, between the AG-94, and the AK-103, as well. It's going to have to be pretty impressive though, to displace the AG-94, it's by far the best weapon on SVER, and it's still a widely respected rifle in Valor and Raven, as well. I might prefer the SCAR-LW, but you can't go wrong with it.


I think I'm about to pick up the PSK, and get my last 700 kills with it, so I can get my Specialist Medal. Should be interesting, I'm not a huge fan of the MMGs anymore, but we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for the recognition, it actually took me quite a while to write it all. I think that that sounds like a good idea waiting for the Tamsen although the AG-94 is amazing, especially with the attachments foregrip and reflex sight.

I remember thinking this when I first joined, people telling me that I could give rep but just checked the Things you should know - Basic Forum Features thread and

I need to hit the + on this post as well, I know I'm old and slow/blind ... but still could not see the darn +/- ... not enough posts yet. I assume these are always enabled ..

Well, the one advantage to my family booting me from the family room is I'm back on my computer --- headed down in a bit to get an audio cable adapter I need that will allow me to mix my mic audio with game audio and computer audio, thus I should be able to turn the game music all the way down, turn my tunes up, and still have game audio channels 1 and 2 .... well see soon.

Really, Azira? I'm not too fond of Valor's music, but I didn't mind Raven's themes, and I really enjoy SVER's. Then again, I also really like Apocalytptica.

I'm really enjoying using the AGVK, right now. Working on a mobile sniper kind of deal, and working on my reflexes for the quick-scopes and quick snipes. I've pulled off some pretty cool shots already, looking forward to seeing what I can do with this thing in a week or two. Watching a lot of ChunkyMonkey and Zer0tobackdown's videos right now, they have the style I'm going for, with the mix of sniping, and run and gun with the .50 cal that I'm going for. Slowly picking up on it, and I'm loving it.

No offence intended towards anyone, but the music makes me feel that I need to cover up my ears or something so I don't have to listen to it anymore.

I think I'll be visiting the options menu next time I boot the game up.

Both requirements must be met.
Its a global setting.
After discussion some time ago, the admin and mod team decided 5 seemed a reasonable number.

My only problem with the music is how random it seems to be. It makes sense when it starts at the beginning of a match, and again at the end. But sometimes it just chimes in right in the middle of a battle?
At least, that's happened to me a few times.

The music is trigged by kill streaks, in increments of 5, or by a rapid gain of points. I'm not sure what exactly the threshold is for points, and the timeframe, though. No worries on the music, Az, everybody likes different things. Just a bit of a contrast to what I'm used to seeing, which is a lot of love for SVER's themes. I do feel that way about Valor's music those, I'm not a fan of the pseudo-country themes. It's bad enough when we defend Copper Hills, and having to listen to it for a second in the bunker.

Looks like banded got to the videos before me, thanks! Those are the guys I'm watching right now, along with Gunny, to get a feel for how they use their .50 cal. They're on Valor, so they have a better rifle, but I'll make due with my AGVK. Gimme the rust and the tic marks scratched into the gun, over those extra two rounds anyday.

thanks for the vids band, I grabbed the 50 cal in battlefield as a second weapon, with an assault as a first ... I did like to use it in a similar fashion as the vid (of course I'm no where that good), but why I think I'll like it on my assault, going to try it anyway.
