They are called "splicers". This, because they have spliced so many plasmids into their own genes that they've essentially go insane. The brain was never meant to handle that much transformation/power. It was never natural. Thats why they are always looking for ADAM. Its like a drug and they are insanely addicted to splicing. THey're all banged up and cut up simply because they've been in such horrible living conditions plus, the overdosing of adam and too much splicing leaves them in degenerative states.

So far liking Bioshock one. I like the whole feel of the game, the enemies are cool, pretty smart too at times cause they actually talk to each other and there is some definate creepy moments.
